Using illustrative figures in a Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI)-hosted 2017 consultation response, that works out to about 180 GB per month for non-HD video or 1.44 TB for HD video. These are rough examples, not a measured rate for a particular stream; actual use depends on its platform, playback quality and encoding.
Estimate a full month of continuous streaming
Multiply the stream’s data use per hour by the hours it runs. A 30-day month has 24 × 30 = 720 hours.

The hourly examples come from a TRAI-hosted consultation response from 2017. Treat them as scenario inputs, not a current official standard or a promise that every HD yoga stream consumes exactly 2 GB each hour. The calculation assumes the stream runs continuously and its hourly rate stays constant.
For a different month length, use the actual hours: 744 hours for 31 days or 672 hours for 28 days. If you know the stream’s actual hourly consumption, substitute it for the example rate.

Why your actual data use can differ
Playback quality and connection conditions
Data use changes when the video plays at different qualities. YouTube recommends sustained playback speeds of 0.7 Mbps for 360p, 1.1 Mbps for 480p, 2.5 Mbps for 720p, 5 Mbps for 1080p and 20 Mbps for 4K UHD. These are connection-speed recommendations, not direct measurements of data consumed per hour or guarantees of a video’s encoded bitrate.
YouTube says playback quality can depend on connection speed, screen size, source quality and browser, and viewers can manually select a quality. That means one stream may not deliver the same quality or use the same amount of data for every viewer. See YouTube’s playback-quality guidance. Other platforms may behave differently.

Other devices and household usage
Your broadband plan’s total data use includes more than the meditation stream. Phones, computers, app updates, downloads and other video playback can also count toward an allowance or fair-usage threshold. A stream-only estimate therefore cannot establish how much of your plan’s limit your household will use.
Check the broadband plan’s FUP before relying on “unlimited”
In India, check your provider’s current terms for the plan available at your address: its data allowance or fair usage policy (FUP) threshold, the speed after that threshold, advertised or typical speed, billing period and any charges for extra data. Plan terms vary, so do not assume all unlimited plans have the same limit or post-threshold speed.

TRAI’s broadband FAQ says that an unlimited plan provides the promised speed up to its specified data-consumption limit, after which speed is reduced. It also notes that packages may have different download limits and that additional data can attract charges. Compare the provider’s current plan details with your estimated stream use and the rest of your household’s usage.
