There is no single Apple Music free-trial length for everyone. Apple’s current US promotion offers eligible new subscribers three months free with a qualifying new Apple device, but that device offer is not a universal trial. Check the offer displayed for your Apple Account before you accept; it shows the duration and renewal terms that apply to you.
How long is the Apple Music free trial?
Trial length depends on the offer available to your account and country or region. Apple’s current US Apple Music page advertises three months free for new subscribers with an eligible new device. That promotion should not be taken to mean every new subscriber receives three months, and the reviewed information does not establish one standard trial duration for all accounts.

Apple’s introductory-offer eligibility guidance says a customer can use one introductory offer per subscription group. Whether your account qualifies is determined by the offer presented to you, not by the general promotion alone.

Apple’s US promotion is for new subscribers with a new eligible iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, Apple Watch, AirPods, or another qualifying Apple device. After setting up or pairing the device, look for the offer in the Apple Music app. The promotion is scoped to the US; availability and terms may differ in other storefronts.

You have 90 days after activating the eligible device to redeem the US offer. Confirm that the offer appears in the app and review its terms before starting it.
How to check your offer and avoid an unwanted charge
- Open Apple Music on the device or account you plan to use and review the offer shown at signup. If you are redeeming a device promotion, first set up or pair the eligible device.
- Check the details before accepting. Confirm the trial duration, the renewal price shown, and when billing begins. Do not assume terms from another country or another account apply to yours.
- Set a cancellation reminder if you do not want to continue. Apple’s Apple Media Services terms say to cancel at least 24 hours before a free trial ends to avoid being charged.
- Cancel through your subscription settings before that deadline if you decide not to continue. Apple says a trial cancelled before it ends cannot be reactivated as that free trial, so do not cancel early unless you are ready to give it up.
What happens when the trial ends?
If you do not cancel in time, the subscription proceeds under the renewal terms shown when you accepted the offer. When the subscription ends, Apple says subscription-dependent content and functionality become unavailable. A Family membership can stream on up to six devices; that capacity does not change the trial’s duration.
