Plan on about 160 hours to play the story campaigns in the three bundles in Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III], or roughly 165 hours if you also watch their three included movies. Player-average estimates put a run with extras at about 225 hours and completionist play at more than 430 hours. These are rounded estimates, not official Square Enix playtime figures.
What counts as the Kingdom Hearts collection?
Square Enix announced KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] as three bundles: Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX-, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind DLC. As of October 7, 2026, its announced release date—October 8, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S—was still one day away. The official collection page lists physical purchase options for some platforms.
Playable games and included movies
1.5+2.5 ReMIX includes Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Re:Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, and Birth by Sleep Final Mix. It also includes HD cinematic compilations of 358/2 Days and Re:coded; these are story presentations to watch, not playable remasters. 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue adds playable Dream Drop Distance HD and 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage –, plus the χ Back Cover movie. III + Re Mind contains Kingdom Hearts III and its Re Mind DLC. Square Enix’s collection page and support FAQ identify these contents.
Melody of Memory is separate
Melody of Memory is not one of the three bundles listed in Collection [I~III]. If by “the collection” you mean the broader set of playable series entries, include it separately: the reported average for its main story is about nine hours.

How do the totals change by play style?
- Story-focused, three bundles: allow roughly 160 hours for the playable campaigns. Watching the included 358/2 Days, Re:coded, and χ Back Cover movies—estimated at about three, three, and one hour respectively—brings the reported total to about 165 hours.
- Story plus extras: budget around 225 hours across the collection, based on the guide’s rounded player averages.
- Completionist: expect more than 430 hours across the included entries, by the same reported averages.
- Broader playable series: count Melody of Memory separately; its reported main-story estimate adds about nine hours, while its extras and completionist estimates are 16 and 53 hours.
These totals are rounded aggregates, so they are useful for planning rather than a precise promise for an individual playthrough.

Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix has the longest listed main story at about 30 hours. For completionist play, Birth by Sleep Final Mix is the largest commitment at about 97 hours. Its separate Terra, Ventus, and Aqua campaigns and secret final chapter help explain why its full-completion estimate is much higher than its story-only figure.
