The Fortnite Item Shop shows its rotation time in your local time zone and, on an item’s description page, a planned date for when that item is due to leave. That date does not predict when the cosmetic will return. Shop prices are charged in V-Bucks; the real-money cost depends on the V-Bucks pack or top-up options available in your region and platform storefront.
When does the Fortnite Item Shop reset?
Epic removed the Shop’s overall refresh timer and displays the rotation time in each player’s unique time zone instead. Check the time shown in your own Shop rather than relying on a universal reset hour. Epic described this change in its April 9, 2024 Shop and Locker changes notice.

That notice also said planned rotation-out dates would appear on individual cosmetics’ description pages beginning in late May 2024. Open the item’s page in the current Shop to see its displayed departure date; listings and offers can change.
How long will an item stay, and will it return?
The item description’s planned departure date is the useful guide to how long a currently listed cosmetic is expected to remain. It is not a schedule for a future appearance. Epic’s cited notice does not promise that a particular item will return or establish a recurring rotation pattern, so treat any prediction about its next appearance as uncertain.

How are Fortnite cosmetic prices set?
The Shop lists cosmetic prices in V-Bucks. Prices vary by item; there is no single price that can safely be inferred from an old rarity or color tier. Epic said it retired the old Battle Royale-inspired cosmetic color tiers and names as a way to express quality, while series labels such as Icon Series and Gaming Legends Series remained. The current item listing is the relevant price for a purchase.
Bundles may display a discounted V-Bucks price alongside an original total. Compare the amount charged with the standalone prices where available, and check exactly which cosmetics are included. A displayed discount does not determine whether the bundle is worth buying for you.

For example, one accessed Shop snapshot showed a featured bundle at 2,400 V-Bucks with an original total of 7,300 V-Bucks. That illustrates how the comparison may be displayed; it is not a current or permanent offer.
How much do V-Bucks cost?
Epic announced that these US-dollar pack prices would take effect on March 19, 2026. They are examples of pack tiers, not a cash price for any particular cosmetic:
Rank #3
- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.

| V-Bucks | Announced US price |
|---|---|
| 800 | $8.99 |
| 2,400 | $22.99 |
| 4,500 | $36.99 |
| 12,500 | $89.99 |
These figures come from Epic’s March 10, 2026 pricing announcement. Epic notes that regional values may differ. Your platform’s purchase screen shows the available price for your region, and storefront totals can vary. Epic Rewards described in the announcement apply to eligible purchases through the Epic Games Store or Epic’s payment system on named platforms; do not assume the rewards apply to every third-party storefront.
A pack adds a balance rather than assigning a fixed real-money value to each cosmetic. To work out what a specific item will cost you in cash, check the item’s V-Bucks price and the current purchase options in your own storefront.

Can you buy only the V-Bucks you need?
Epic announced purchases in increments of 50 V-Bucks, with an example of a player adding 100 to a 400-V-Buck balance to reach the 500 needed for an item. The September 11, 2025 announcement named Xbox, Nintendo, PC, Android, iPhones, iPads, and Fortnite’s web Item Shop, and said availability would expand. Because rollout can vary, check whether an exact-amount option appears in your platform’s purchase flow.
What if you bought a cosmetic by mistake?
Epic’s September 7, 2022 purchase update described cancellation of a V-Bucks cosmetic purchase until the item was equipped during gameplay or 24 hours had passed, whichever came first. That dated description is not a complete statement of current return eligibility. For current steps and conditions, use Epic’s cancellation and return instructions.
