To upload an image in Hostinger Reach, open your email campaign template, click Edit in the preview, select the image, and choose Change image. You can then upload a file from your computer, pick a free Unsplash image, paste a publicly accessible image URL, or generate an image with Reach’s AI tools.

Where image uploading starts in Hostinger Reach

Image selection is handled inside the email template editor rather than from a separate media-management page. Open the campaign that contains the template you want to change, then open the template’s preview and click Edit. Select the image block you want to replace and click Change image.

That control opens the image choices available for the selected block. Hostinger documents four routes: a file stored on your computer, a free image from Unsplash, an image loaded from a URL, or a new image generated by Reach’s AI feature. After you choose one, the image is inserted into the template and can be resized, aligned, or linked.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Hostinger’s step-by-step instructions are available in Hostinger Reach: How to upload images. The editor workflow is also described in How to manually edit your email template in Hostinger Reach.

How to upload a local image file

Use this method when the image is already on your computer and you have the right to use it in your email.

  1. Open the Reach email campaign containing the template.
  2. In the template preview, click Edit.
  3. Click the image you want to replace.
  4. Click Change image.
  5. Click the + symbol in the image picker.
  6. Choose Upload from computer.
  7. Use the file-selection window to locate the image, select it, and confirm the choice.

Once Reach accepts the file, it appears in the selected image area. Use the editor’s controls to resize it, change its alignment, or attach a link before continuing with the rest of the email.

Preparing a local file before you select it

Keep the original file available until the image is visibly in the template. This gives you a straightforward recovery path if you select the wrong file or decide that a different crop works better. Name files descriptively when a campaign contains several similar graphics, for example spring-sale-header or webinar-speaker-photo, so the correct asset is easier to identify in the file chooser.

Hostinger’s reviewed instructions do not publish a Reach-specific maximum file size, supported-format list, upload-time benchmark, or success-rate figure. Do not assume a limit from another Hostinger product. If Reach rejects a file, try a commonly used web image format and a smaller copy, then check the exact message shown by the editor; the available documentation does not establish a universal limit.

How to choose a free Unsplash image

Unsplash is useful when you need a stock-style photograph and do not already have a local asset. The search and selection happen in Reach’s image picker.

  1. Open the campaign template and click Edit in the preview.
  2. Select the image block and click Change image.
  3. Choose the Unsplash option in the image picker.
  4. Search with a keyword that describes the subject you need.
  5. Review the returned images and select the result that fits the message.

The selected Unsplash image is placed into the template and remains available for the same post-selection adjustments as an uploaded file: resize it, align it, or add a link.

When Unsplash is the better choice

  • Speed: You can search inside Reach instead of finding, downloading, and then uploading a file.
  • General-purpose photography: It is suited to broad subjects such as landscapes, workspaces, food, or people when a custom brand asset is not required.
  • Less originality: A stock result may also be used by other newsletters, so it is not equivalent to a commissioned or AI-generated visual.

Reach’s documented workflow confirms that Unsplash images can be searched and selected, but the reviewed instructions do not state whether a selected image is saved to a reusable Reach gallery or what additional license record is displayed in the editor. For campaigns with strict brand or licensing requirements, retain the source information and verify the applicable Unsplash terms independently.

How to add an image from a URL

Choose the URL route when the image is already hosted online and you want Reach to use that hosted asset rather than upload a local copy.

  1. Open the campaign’s template and click Edit.
  2. Select the image to be replaced and click Change image.
  3. Choose Add image from URL.
  4. Paste the image’s public address into the field provided.
  5. Confirm the selection so Reach can load the image into the template.

The address must be publicly accessible. In practical terms, the image must be reachable without a private login, an internal network connection, or a temporary permission that expires before recipients view the email. A page URL is not necessarily an image URL: use the address that directly serves the image asset, not the address of a gallery or article surrounding it.

Checking a URL before using it

  • Open the address in a normal browser window where you are not signed in to the hosting service.
  • Confirm that the image itself loads rather than a sign-in page, an access-denied message, or a full web page.
  • Prefer a stable address that will remain available for the life of the campaign.
  • Keep ownership and permission records for an image hosted by someone else.

If the URL picker cannot load the asset, first test the address without your account session. A private, expiring, or blocked address does not meet Reach’s documented public-access requirement. If the asset must remain private, download a permitted copy and use Upload from computer instead.

How to generate an image with Reach AI

Reach can create an image from a description. This is the option to use when you need an original concept and do not have a suitable local file, Unsplash result, or hosted asset.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Open the template in the campaign and click Edit.
  2. Select the image block and click Change image.
  3. Choose the AI image-generation option.
  4. Describe the subject and the visual you want.
  5. Set the optional style and layout choices when they are offered.
  6. Add a reference image if you want the generation to follow a supplied visual direction and the reference-image setting is available.
  7. Start generation and review the four variations returned for that generation.
  8. Select the variation that best fits the email and apply it to the template.

Hostinger states that each AI generation returns four variations. That is a per-generation result, not a promise that every variation will be suitable for publication. Review all four for composition, legibility, subject accuracy, and fit with the surrounding email before choosing one.

Writing a useful image description

Include the subject, setting, mood, dominant colors, and intended composition in the description. Mention the orientation or layout you need if the editor presents a layout control. For example, instead of “coffee image,” describe “a warm, editorial photograph of a ceramic coffee cup on a wooden desk, soft morning light, uncluttered space on the right for email text.” This gives the generator decisions it can act on without requiring a long paragraph.

AI generation is a creative option, not a substitute for checking the result. Reject a variation if it contains distracting details, an unsuitable layout, or visual elements that conflict with your campaign. Reach’s documentation confirms the style, layout, and reference-image settings and the four-variation output; it does not publish a Reach-specific accuracy rate, generation time, or file-size figure.

Image-source comparison

Method Image origin Originality and licensing control Public URL required Reach gallery reuse
Upload from computer Your local file You control the asset and must have permission to use it No Not stated by Hostinger
Unsplash Search result from Unsplash Fast stock-photo selection; retain the relevant source and license information No separate URL is required in Reach Not stated by Hostinger
Add from URL An externally hosted image You depend on the host remaining available and on your permission to use the image Yes; the image address must be publicly accessible Not stated by Hostinger
Generate with AI Image created from your description More control over the concept; inspect every generated variation before use No Not stated by Hostinger

The best route depends on what you are optimizing. Choose a local upload for a logo, product photo, or approved brand graphic. Choose Unsplash for a quick general-purpose photograph. Choose a URL when the authoritative asset already lives on a public host and should remain managed there. Choose AI when you need a tailored concept and can review the generated options.

What you can do after inserting the image

Insertion is not the end of the workflow. Reach lets you adjust the chosen image in the template by resizing it, changing its alignment, or linking it.

Resize the image

Resize the image so it fits the visual hierarchy of the email. A large hero image may need more space than a small supporting graphic, while a logo generally needs restrained sizing. Make the adjustment in the selected image block and check how the surrounding text and sections move.

Align the image

Use alignment to place the image consistently with nearby content. Check the result in the complete email rather than judging the image block in isolation; alignment affects the balance between the image and adjacent copy.

Link the image

An image can be linked after it is inserted. Use this for a product destination, registration page, article, or other page that the image represents. Test the destination before sending the campaign so the visual and its link lead to the same intended action.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Troubleshooting common upload problems

The Change image button is missing

Make sure you are editing the template preview, not merely viewing the campaign. The documented sequence is Edit, select the image, then Change image. If you have selected text or another block, click the image itself before looking for the control.

The local file will not upload

Confirm that you used the + symbol and selected Upload from computer. Re-select the intended file and wait for it to appear in the image area. Because Hostinger does not publish a Reach-specific size or format limit in the cited instructions, avoid assuming that an undocumented threshold applies; try a smaller copy or a commonly used web image format if the editor reports a file problem.

The URL image does not appear

Open the exact image address outside any logged-in session. If it redirects to a login page, requires a private network, expires quickly, or displays a web page instead of the image, it is not a publicly accessible image URL for this workflow. Use a stable public address or upload a permitted local copy.

The AI result is unsuitable

Review all four variations returned by the generation. If none works, revise the description with a clearer subject, setting, color direction, or layout requirement and generate another set. Where available, use the style, layout, or reference-image settings to narrow the visual direction.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The image looks wrong after insertion

Select the image block and use the available resize and alignment controls. If the composition still does not fit, return to Change image and choose a different source or variation instead of forcing the current asset into the layout.

A practical decision checklist

  • Do you already have an approved file? Use Upload from computer.
  • Do you need a quick, general stock photograph? Search Unsplash.
  • Is the correct asset already hosted publicly and reliably? Use Add image from URL.
  • Do you need a custom concept rather than an existing photograph? Use Generate with AI and compare the four returned variations.
  • Does the image need to act as a call to action? Insert it first, then add and test its link.
  • Will the image be managed by another service? Confirm that a public URL will remain available for the campaign’s lifetime.

Important limits and expectations

The cited Hostinger instructions explain the available image sources and editing controls but do not state a Reach-specific maximum file size, supported-format table, upload-time guarantee, success-rate statistic, or gallery-retention policy. Those details may change with the product or account, so rely on the message and controls shown in your Reach editor rather than applying limits from another email tool.

The documented behavior is clear on the central workflow: image changes begin in template Edit mode, the Change image control opens the source choices, URL assets must be public, AI generation provides four variations per generation, and the selected image can then be resized, aligned, or linked.
