Hostinger AI Builder agentic mode does not provide a built-in export-to-PDF button. To produce a usable PDF, ask the agent to add a Download as PDF feature, or ask it to create a print-optimized page and use your browser’s Save as PDF command. The first route gives visitors a direct file download; the second is usually faster for pages people already know how to print.

Both routes work best when your prompt specifies the paper size, margins, typography, hidden interface elements, table behavior, branding, and treatment of interactive content. Test the result in a normal browser tab and inspect the actual PDF before publishing.

What Hostinger AI Builder agentic mode does for PDF work

Agentic mode is Hostinger’s natural-language development tool for creating websites and web applications. The setup path is Hostinger dashboard → Websites → Create website → AI Builder → Agentic. You describe the project, and the agent generates the application rather than requiring you to write every component manually.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Hostinger describes the tool as supporting prompts in more than 80 languages (Hostinger, 2026). Its documented default architecture typically uses Node.js for the backend and React with Vite for the front end (Hostinger, 2026). That default is the safest choice for a PDF feature because changing technologies can introduce compatibility problems. Request another stack only when your project has a clear requirement for it.

  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

The initial website description field accepts 700 characters, including spaces (Hostinger, 2026). Use that short field to identify the application and its audience. Put detailed PDF requirements in the later agent chat, where you can refine the generated result over several prompts.

Choose the right PDF workflow

There are two documented ways to turn an AI Builder project into a PDF. They solve different problems, so choose based on what the person using your site must do.

Decision point Download as PDF feature Print-friendly page
Output A downloadable PDF file produced by a button in the application A browser print job that the user saves as a PDF
Best for Invoices, certificates, reports, booking confirmations, and other documents users repeatedly download Content pages, summaries, receipts, or records that users can print directly
Implementation effort Ask the agent to generate and connect a PDF action, then test the button and the file Ask the agent to add print-specific styling and test the browser print dialog
Branding and fields Fine-grained control over the document’s fields, logo, and generated layout Control through the page’s print styles; the browser contributes some print settings
Long tables Must be explicitly designed to continue across pages without clipped rows Must be checked in the browser’s print preview for page breaks and row clipping
Testing surface Button action, generated file, page geometry, and downloaded content Live page, print preview, selected printer settings, and saved file

If customers expect a file in their downloads folder, use the first method. If the page itself is the source document and occasional printing is enough, the second method avoids adding a separate document-generation control.

Workflow 1: add a Download as PDF button

Use this workflow when the PDF is a product feature rather than an incidental browser action. An invoice, certificate, report, or booking confirmation usually benefits from a dedicated button with a predictable document layout.

1. Open the project and describe the document

  1. Open the relevant project in Hostinger AI Builder agentic mode.
  2. In the chat prompt, name the document type and identify every field that must appear. For an invoice, this could include the customer name, services, subtotal, taxes, and total.
  3. Describe the brand assets, including the logo, colors, and any required wording.
  4. State the page format, margins, typography, table rules, and overflow behavior. Do not leave those decisions implicit.

A concrete request gives the generated code constraints it can implement. This example is deliberately explicit:

Build a Download as PDF button for the invoice view. Create an A4 document with 18 mm margins, the supplied logo at the top, customer name and invoice number in the header, an item table with service, quantity, unit price, and line total, followed by subtotal, taxes, and total. Use a clean sans-serif font, 22 px maximum for the document heading and 14 px body text. Keep every table column inside the printable width. If the item table reaches the bottom of a page, continue it on the next page without splitting a row. Hide the application navigation and action controls from the generated PDF. Replace interactive charts with static images.

Adjust the values to your document. The important part is not the exact pixel or margin choice; it is naming the constraints so the agent has an unambiguous target.

2. Review the preview and exercise the feature

Wait for the agent to apply the change, then inspect the preview. Check that the button is visible in the application, that it responds to a click, and that the resulting file opens as a PDF. Use realistic data rather than a single short example: long customer names, several line items, large totals, and missing optional fields expose layout problems that a minimal test will not.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

3. Correct defects with narrow follow-up prompts

When something is wrong, describe the observable defect and the constraint that should replace it. For example:

The invoice table is cut off on the right side of the PDF. Recalculate the column widths so all columns fit within an A4 page with the existing margins. Keep the text readable, wrap long service names, and allow the table to continue on a second page without cutting a row.

Specific follow-ups are more reliable than asking the agent to “make it better.” Name the affected element, the page geometry, and the acceptable behavior at the edge case.

4. Confirm the final file before publishing

  1. Generate files with short and long content.
  2. Open each PDF in a desktop viewer and a browser PDF viewer.
  3. Check page count, margins, text wrapping, totals, logo placement, and table continuation.
  4. Try the action from the same screen a normal visitor will use, not only from an editor preview.
  5. Publish only after the downloaded file matches the intended document.

Workflow 2: create a print-friendly page

Choose this route when the application already displays the information correctly and visitors simply need a printable copy. The agent changes the page’s print presentation; the browser then creates the PDF.

1. Ask for a print-only layout

Tell AI Builder exactly what should disappear from print output and how the remaining content should fit on paper. A suitable prompt is:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
Optimize this page for printing and browser Save as PDF. Use A4 paper with defined margins. Hide the navigation, sidebar, action buttons, filters, and other interactive controls in print output. Keep the document heading, customer details, content, totals, and logo. Use 20 px headings and 14 px body text, keep tables inside the page width, let long tables continue onto additional pages without splitting rows, and replace interactive charts or maps with static images.

Ask for the exact controls in your interface to be hidden. “Hide the UI” is too vague if the page has several toolbars, menus, or floating widgets.

2. Open the live page in a normal tab

After the change is applied, open the published or preview URL in a new browser tab. The embedded preview iframe can behave differently from a live tab, so do not rely on the iframe alone for print validation.

3. Save the print output as a PDF

  1. On Windows, press Ctrl+P. On macOS, press Cmd+P.
  2. In the browser print dialog, select the option to save as a PDF.
  3. Confirm the paper size is A4 if that is what your prompt specified.
  4. Inspect the preview for clipped columns, unexpected blank pages, missing images, and controls that should have been hidden.
  5. Save the file and open it independently to verify the final result.

Browser settings can affect the outcome. A user may select a different paper size, scale, orientation, or margin option, so document the intended settings when the output must be consistent.

Formatting instructions that prevent common PDF failures

Define page geometry

Name the paper format instead of saying only “make it printable.” A4 is an appropriate target when that is your audience’s standard. Give the agent explicit margins in pixels or another precise unit and ask it to keep the content width inside the printable area. If your audience uses another paper size, state that instead; do not assume A4 is universal.

  • Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft

Separate screen and print visibility

List every element that belongs on screen but not in the document. Typical examples include navigation menus, sidebars, search controls, filters, edit buttons, download buttons, floating help widgets, and pagination controls. Also list elements that must remain, such as the title, date, customer details, totals, logo, and legal text. This prevents an otherwise correct page from producing a PDF full of application chrome.

Set a readable type scale

Hostinger’s formatting guidance gives 18–24 px as a recommended range for headings and 12–16 px for body text. Pick values within those ranges according to the document’s density. A long report may need the lower end to avoid unnecessary pages; a certificate may use a larger heading. Specify the font family as well as the size so the generated page does not fall back to an unexpected typeface.

Design tables for page width and page breaks

Tables are a frequent source of unusable PDFs. Require every column to fit the printable width, wrap long text, and continue on a second page when necessary. Tell the agent not to split an individual row between pages. Test with the longest realistic label and enough rows to force a page break. A layout that works for three rows can fail as soon as the table reaches the bottom margin.

Replace interactive content

Interactive charts, maps, hover states, and controls do not have a useful equivalent in a static PDF. Ask for a static image or a text summary in the PDF version. Keep the interactive version on screen if it helps users, but provide a deliberate print representation instead of allowing the browser to capture an incomplete widget.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Testing checklist before release

Use the following checklist for either workflow:

  • Verify the intended paper size and margins.
  • Check that the document title, logo, dates, names, totals, and other required fields are present.
  • Test empty, short, and unusually long values.
  • Force a multi-page table and confirm that rows remain intact.
  • Look for horizontal clipping, overlapping text, and unexpected blank pages.
  • Confirm that navigation and action controls are absent from print output.
  • Open the generated file outside AI Builder and zoom in on small text.
  • Repeat the test in a new browser tab for print-based output.
  • Try the workflow on the browsers your audience actually uses.

Previewing the page is not the same as validating the file. The preview may show a responsive webpage while the saved PDF exposes a width calculation, font substitution, or page-break problem.

Troubleshooting guide

Symptom Likely cause Prompted fix
The rightmost table column is missing The table is wider than the printable area Ask AI Builder to recalculate column widths for the specified paper size and margins, wrap long text, and preserve all columns.
A row is split across two pages Page-break behavior was not defined Request that rows remain together and that the table continue on the next page.
Navigation appears in the PDF Print visibility rules do not cover every control Name each menu, sidebar, toolbar, and button that must be hidden in print output.
A chart or map is blank The interactive component cannot render as a static document Replace it with a static image or a text summary for the PDF version.
The downloaded file opens but contains the wrong data The PDF action is not using the current record or form state Tell the agent which displayed record, customer, or form values the button must capture, then test after changing those values.
The page looks correct in the editor but not in print preview The preview iframe and live browser have different rendering conditions Open the live page in a new tab, reproduce the print action, and adjust the print-specific rules there.
Text is too small or pages are excessive Typography and spacing were chosen without the document’s content volume Set heading and body ranges explicitly, then test with realistic long content before reducing sizes.

Keep PDF generation separate from PDF input

Hostinger documents another PDF capability that can cause confusion: you can attach an existing image or PDF as a reference when creating a site. The prompting guide also describes uploading a PDF so AI Builder can read its content and build a website from it. That is an input workflow. It does not give visitors a native control for exporting your finished website to PDF.

For visitor-facing output, use the generated download feature or the print-friendly page method described above. Treat an uploaded PDF as source material, not as evidence that the project has an export function.

Practical document patterns

Invoices

Use the download-button workflow when customers need a consistent record. Specify customer identity, invoice number, service lines, subtotal, taxes, total, payment terms, and logo placement. Require long service descriptions to wrap and totals to remain together near the end of the document.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Certificates

A certificate usually has fewer fields but stronger branding requirements. Define the paper size, orientation if needed, logo, recipient name, achievement text, date, and signature area. Test names with very different lengths so the central line does not collide with surrounding design elements.

Reports

Reports often produce the most page-break problems. Use a print-friendly page when the report already exists as a readable screen view, or a download button when recipients need an archived file. Specify how headings, tables, charts, and repeated context should behave across pages.

Booking confirmations

A confirmation can combine a compact summary with a longer itinerary. State which interactive controls must disappear and which booking details must remain. If a map is shown on screen, request a static map image or a written location summary for the PDF.

Requirements and boundaries to communicate clearly

  • Your project must be created in Hostinger AI Builder agentic mode through the Hostinger dashboard path described above.
  • The initial project description has a 700-character limit, so reserve detailed PDF constraints for the agent conversation.
  • Keep the default Node.js, React, and Vite arrangement unless a specific requirement justifies a different stack.
  • Decide whether users need a direct file download or a browser-generated print file.
  • Provide the logo and other brand assets that the document must use.
  • Define paper size, margins, typography, visibility, table overflow, and static replacements before asking the agent to finalize the feature.
  • Validate the actual PDF in a new browser tab and outside the editor.

These constraints do not guarantee perfect output on the first generation. They give the agent measurable requirements and make follow-up corrections precise.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Which method should you use?

Select Download as PDF when the PDF is a formal deliverable, must be generated from current application data, or will be downloaded repeatedly by customers. Select the print-friendly page method when the page is already the document and users only need an occasional paper or saved copy. In either case, put layout rules in the prompt, test long content, and inspect the saved file rather than judging the result only from the on-screen preview.
