HEROIC moved head coach Joonas “doto” Forss to the bench on October 1, 2026. The organization said it chose the direction it believed best for its long-term project, but its statement did not give a more specific reason. HLTV reported that HEROIC had won two trophies during doto’s main-team tenure.
Why did HEROIC bench doto?
HEROIC CEO Joachim Harg called the decision difficult and said the organization had chosen what it believed was best for the project over the long term. HLTV’s October 1 report does not identify a specific tactical, interpersonal, or performance-related cause, so the move should not be presented as a response to poor results.
Harg credited doto with delivering results for both HEROIC’s Academy and main teams. He said the coach had won two trophies with the main team and put it in an excellent position to qualify for the PGL Singapore Major.
What did HEROIC achieve under doto?
HLTV identified the two titles from doto’s main-team tenure as Stake Ranked Episode 3 and Stake Pulse Beat II. At the time of its report, HEROIC was also pursuing qualification for IEM Beijing. That campaign and Harg’s separate reference to the PGL Singapore Major are distinct; the report does not establish a later qualification outcome for either event.
