There is no confirmation in the available reporting that Bardock appears in a new Dragon Ball Super release. Bardock already has a substantial story in the manga, including chapters 77 and 82–83, but that established material is different from a newly announced appearance. A January 2026 report on upcoming Dragon Ball Super projects did not mention Bardock.
Is Bardock in a new Dragon Ball Super release?
That claim is unverified. A short preview carrying the headline “Bardock Returns in New Dragon Ball Super Release” does not provide enough information to establish which release it means or prove that Bardock appears in it. The available evidence supports a distinction between Bardock’s existing manga story and a new appearance: the former is documented; the latter is not confirmed.
Where Bardock appears in the Dragon Ball Super manga
The manga chronology lists chapter 77 as “Goku’s Father Bardock” and chapters 82 and 83 as “Bardock vs Gas” and “Bardock vs Gas 2.” It also lists Volume 18 as collecting chapters 77–80, including chapter 77. These details are listed in Kanzenshuu’s manga chronology; check the specific edition’s contents if you are buying a collected volume.
This is a meaningful Bardock storyline in Dragon Ball Super, but it is not evidence of a fresh appearance in a later release.

What the announced projects establish—and what they don’t
A NookGaming report published January 26, 2026, said Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol had been announced at the 40th anniversary event. The report gave no format or release window and did not say Bardock would appear.
The same report described Dragon Ball Super: Beerus as a remake project planned for that fall. It did not connect that project to Bardock either. Those are details reported on January 26, 2026, not confirmation of a current release schedule or of Bardock’s involvement.

How to read a Bardock “return” headline
- Existing manga material: Bardock is the subject of chapter 77 and appears in the chapter titles for 82 and 83.
- New project announcements: The Galactic Patrol and Beerus projects were reported, but the cited report did not name Bardock as part of either.
- Claim of a new appearance: The brief preview behind the headline does not substantiate it.
If you want to revisit the documented story, Dragon Ball Super Volume 18 is the relevant collected edition according to the chronology, because it includes chapters 77–80. Confirm the edition and contents with the listing or publisher before purchase.
