“Harmon Kardon HK 19.5 Speakers $7” refers to an April 11, 2002 AnandTech Forums deal thread—not a current sale. The thread starter, RVN, described the product as “Harman / Kardon HK19.5 High Quality Powered Satellite Speakers” and wrote that Dell had shipped these speakers with some of its systems.
What the $7 listing was
The $7 figure was the historical deal price recorded by the AnandTech Forums poster in 2002. It should not be read as a current retail value, a manufacturer price, or a reliable used-market valuation.
The model identified in the post is HK19.5, a powered satellite-speaker system associated with Harman/Kardon branding. The same thread says Dell had been shipping the speakers with some desktop systems. An earlier forum discussion also links HK 19.5 units with Dell computers, but that is informal user corroboration rather than Dell or Harman/Kardon documentation.
What is—and is not—confirmed
| Detail | Status |
|---|---|
| Model | HK19.5, as identified by the 2002 AnandTech thread starter |
| Design | Powered satellite speakers, according to the poster’s description |
| Historical price | $7 in the April 11, 2002 deal post; not a current price |
| Dell connection | The poster says Dell shipped them with some systems; forum corroboration is informal |
| Official specifications | Not established: power rating, dimensions, connector layout, and complete system details are unavailable in the cited material |
| Features | Forum users mention a headphone jack and subwoofer jack, but these are anecdotal reports, not verified specifications |
How to identify a surviving set
If you are evaluating a second-hand pair, identify the hardware itself rather than relying on the old $7 title. Check for Harman/Kardon and HK19.5 markings, then verify that the set includes its original power supply and any required cables.
