Disney Dreamlight Valley’s 2026 Trick or Treat event awards seasonal decorations, four Halloween Town crafting recipes, two Trick-or-Treater’s Bounties and the Haunted Well. The event runs from October 14 through October 31, 2026. You earn the rewards by eating or gifting candy, wearing a mask, harvesting pumpkins, solving the Haunted Well activity and visiting villagers during daily Trick-or-Treat interactions.

The table below matches every listed 2026 Halloween duty or activity with its requirement and reward. The Sugar Rush requirements are cumulative milestones: reaching 45 sweets completes the final threshold after the 15- and 30-sweet milestones.

When the 2026 event runs and how candy appears
Gameloft’s October 13, 2026 event announcement sets the event window for October 14–31, 2026. Candy comes from two separate sources, and both matter because the duties require eating and gifting it.

Candy Bowls in the Plaza
Red, Purple and Green Candy Bowls spawn in the Plaza. From October 14 through October 30, two bowls of each color appear every 24 hours. Each bowl gives two candies, so one normal daily spawn produces 12 candies in total: four red, four purple and four green. On October 31, two bowls of each color appear every hour instead of once per day, making the final day the fastest opportunity to stock up. Candy can be eaten directly or given to villagers.

Daily lanterns and Trick-or-Treating
Each day, lit Jack-O’-Lanterns appear outside the homes of Mickey Mouse, WALL-E, Daisy, Stitch, Mike Wazowski and Jack Skellington. Interact with a lantern to start that home’s Trick or Treat activity. Every interaction awards 5 Green Candy, 5 Red Candy and 5 Purple Candy, for 15 pieces per interaction. The lanterns return after the daily reset, so you can revisit all six homes on the next event day.
Because there are six available homes per reset, the 20-interaction Sweet n’ Scary target cannot be completed in a single normal day. A player who visits all six homes each day reaches six interactions on day one, 12 after day two, 18 after day three and 24 after day four. The exact reset time is the one used by your game, so check the lanterns again after the daily reset rather than assuming they refresh at midnight in your local time.
How to complete each Halloween duty
Sugar Rush: eat 15, 30 and 45 sweets
Open the Event Duties screen and track the three Sugar Rush thresholds while consuming candy. The milestones count sweets eaten, not candy merely collected. Candy from Plaza bowls and Trick-or-Treating can be used, and the color does not matter for this duty. If you want to preserve candy for villagers, use the large October 31 bowl refresh or collect additional Trick-or-Treat rewards before eating your total.
Plan for 45 sweets altogether to reach the final threshold. The first reward appears at 15, the second at 30 and the third at 45; stopping at 30 leaves the last Jack-O’-Lantern milestone unfinished.

Trick or Treat: give candy to 10 villagers
This duty is completed by gifting candy to 10 villagers, not by interacting with the lanterns alone. Collect candy, speak to villagers, choose the gift option and give a candy item. The six lantern interactions are the efficient starting point because each one supplies all three colors, but you still need to perform 10 separate gifts. Keep an eye on the Event Duties counter after each gift so you do not confuse a candy reward from a lantern with a completed gift.
A 3-Course Halloween Meal!: eat all three colors
Consume at least one red, one green and one purple candy. The requirement is color-based rather than quantity-based: three pieces total, one of each color, satisfy the listed condition. Candy bowls and Trick-or-Treat rewards provide every required color, so there is no need to wait for a special recipe or a particular villager.
Villainy Wears Many Masks: wear one mask
Equip any mask through the character wardrobe. The duty checks that a mask is being worn; it does not specify a particular design. Open the clothing menu, select a mask in the head or face accessory category, equip it, then return to the Event Duties page to verify completion. You can remove the mask afterward if it does not fit your outfit.

Stockpiling Pumpkins: harvest 100 pumpkins
Harvest 100 pumpkins during the event. The practical route is to plant a large pumpkin field in a biome where pumpkins can be grown, let the crops mature and collect them with a companion who grants extra harvests if available. The duty is about harvesting the crop, so planting seeds alone does not advance the counter. If you do not have enough farmland ready, start the crop cycle early because growth time can extend beyond one play session.

Haunted Well: chest, clue and candy puzzle
The Haunted Well activity has an unlock requirement that differs from the simple counters above: Forest of Valor must already be unlocked. Once that area is available, search the Plaza for the event chest, interact with it and use the memory clue it provides. The clue leads into the candy puzzle; complete that puzzle through the in-game interface to claim the decoration.
If the activity does not appear, check the two prerequisites first: Forest of Valor access and the Plaza chest. Searching other biomes will not substitute for the Plaza location, and collecting candy alone does not finish this activity. Read the memory clue before attempting the puzzle so the sequence or arrangement it indicates is not missed.
Sweet n’ Scary: the four new 2026 recipe milestones
Sweet n’ Scary is the new 2026 progression track. Its four milestones are based on the number of Trick-or-Treat interactions completed at the six participating homes, not on the number of candy pieces collected. The recipes unlock in order at one, five, 10 and 20 interactions.

These are crafting recipes, so unlocking one does not place a finished object automatically in your inventory. Visit a crafting station after the milestone is awarded and supply the listed amounts of all three candy colors. If you did not already own the seasonal recipe, the Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl recipe is sent by in-game mail at the start of the event.

Best order for finishing the duties
- On the first event day, collect every Plaza bowl and visit all six lanterns. This gives you candy for eating, gifting and the three-color requirement while also starting Sweet n’ Scary.
- Equip a mask before leaving the wardrobe menu, then eat one candy of each color to clear the mask and three-color duties early.
- Gift candy to 10 different villagers or make 10 separate gifts, checking the counter after each interaction.
- Use candy toward Sugar Rush, stopping at 15, 30 and finally 45 sweets as your supply allows.
- Begin or expand a pumpkin field immediately so the 100-harvest target can progress while the daily lanterns reset.
- Return to all six homes every day. Reaching 20 interactions requires multiple resets unless you use an unusually frequent event opportunity; the normal six-home route reaches the target on the fourth day.
- After unlocking Forest of Valor, complete the Plaza chest, memory clue and candy puzzle for the Haunted Well activity.
- Spend spare candy at a crafting station on the Halloween Town recipes once each Sweet n’ Scary milestone unlocks.

Common problems and fixes
The bowls are missing
Check the Plaza and the event date. From October 14–30, bowls refresh every 24 hours, not continuously. On October 31, the refresh is hourly. If you collected a set recently, wait for the next applicable reset.
A lantern interaction did not count toward Sweet n’ Scary
Make sure you interacted with a lit lantern outside one of the six listed homes and completed the Trick-or-Treat exchange. A normal conversation with the villager is not the same activity. Check the Event Duties counter after the interaction.
You have candy but a duty is still incomplete
Collection and consumption are different actions. Sugar Rush requires eating sweets, while the 10-villager duty requires gifting them. The three-course duty also checks for all three colors, so eating several pieces of only one color will not satisfy it.

Unlock Forest of Valor first, then search the Plaza for the chest. Follow the memory clue and complete the candy puzzle from that activity. The chest location and the Forest of Valor requirement are both part of the activity conditions.

A recipe is unlocked but cannot be crafted
Unlocking a milestone adds the recipe; it does not waive the candy cost. At a crafting station, provide the exact red, green and purple quantities shown for that recipe. The Mausoleum has the highest listed cost at five of each color.
What is new in 2026?
The 2026 event adds Trick-or-Treat interactions at six villager homes and the Sweet n’ Scary achievement ladder. Those additions create four recipe rewards tied to repeated visits. The Haunted Well is described as returning, while the Jack-O’-Lanterns, Mickey Mouse Pumpkin, Pumpkin Stack and both Trick-or-Treater’s Bounties also continue the established reward set.
The 2025 official event announcement likewise listed the returning decorations, bounties and Haunted Well and confirmed that candy could be eaten or gifted for Event Duties. The 2024 Jungle Getaway patch notes described the Trick-or-Treat event’s October 23–31 return and identified a brand-new reward for that year. The 2026 schedule is therefore longer and adds a distinct interaction-based recipe track rather than simply repeating the earlier duty list.
How many rewards can you earn?
The listed reward set contains three Sugar Rush decorations, one Mickey-themed decoration, two candy bounties, one pumpkin decoration, the Haunted Well and four Halloween Town recipes: 12 reward entries in total when each milestone or activity is counted separately. The recipes are the only rewards that require additional crafting after unlocking; the other entries are awarded as duty or activity rewards.
