Gurugram’s Municipal Corporation (MCG) began a 10-day GVP-Free Campaign on October 2, 2026, with a target of cleaning 21 garbage-vulnerable points. The announced campaign runs through October 11; launch coverage reports its schedule and aims, but does not establish how many locations were ultimately cleaned.
What is Gurugram’s GVP-Free Campaign?
Also called the GVP Mukt Abhiyan, the drive is intended to clean identified sites where garbage is dumped and encourage residents to prevent waste from accumulating there again. It is part of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 and Haryana’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan, according to the Haryana government release reproduced by India News Calling.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inspected a cleaned site near DHBVN Colony on Mehrauli Road at the October 2 launch. The government release attributed this statement to him: “The objective of the GVP-Free Campaign is not merely to clean the identified locations once, but also to promote responsible behaviour among citizens so that garbage does not accumulate again at these points.”
Which locations are on the campaign schedule?
The schedule reported by Hindustan Times and in the government release assigns dates to the first eight named locations. It lists additional areas for October 7–11 without specifying which site is planned for which day.
