Grand Theft Auto VI reportedly requires PS5 system software version 14.10.00.00 or newer, according to a report that attributes the figure to PlayStation backend tracker PlayStation Game Size. Sony and Rockstar have not confirmed that minimum on the official pages reviewed, and the tracker post linked by the report could not be checked. Treat 14.10.00.00 as unverified, not as a confirmed launch requirement.
What firmware does GTA 6 reportedly require on PS5?
TwistedVoxel reported on October 3, 2026, that the PS5 version of Grand Theft Auto VI requires system software 14.10.00.00 or newer. The article attributed the claim to PlayStation Game Size. Its link to the tracker’s original post returned an access error, and the exact version identifier could not be independently corroborated.
Neither Rockstar’s support page nor PlayStation’s official game page states a minimum PS5 firmware version. The reported number is therefore not an officially confirmed requirement. Version strings are software identifiers, so do not treat them as decimal numbers or infer compatibility from a partial match.
Is PS5 system software 14.10 confirmed as a requirement?
No. The available official pages confirm GTA VI’s platforms and editions, but not a minimum system software version. The report is dated October 3, 2026; Rockstar’s edition information was last updated August 18, 2026, and PlayStation lists November 19, 2026 as the PS5 and PS5 Pro release date. Firmware and launch details may change before release.

Follow Sony’s PS5 system software update instructions; do not use unofficial update files. Sony warns that reinstalling system software deletes console data.
