Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. As of October 20, 2026, the Standard Edition costs $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition costs $99.99 on the official PlayStation and Xbox listings. Eligible digital pre-orders include the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+, while the physical Standard Edition is a box containing download codes rather than a game disc.
Pre-orders are available through the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Rockstar Store and participating retailers where offered in your country. The seller that took your payment—not the game publisher—controls cancellations, refunds, shipping and delivery questions.
GTA 6 release and pre-order dates
Take-Two and Rockstar opened pre-orders on June 25, 2026, at midnight local time. Digital preload begins November 12, 2026, and the game releases worldwide on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Physical code-in-box copies are also scheduled to be available from November 12 so buyers can redeem the code and preload before launch.

What comes with the Standard Edition?
Standard is the base game at $79.99. An eligible digital purchase includes the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+. The physical Standard Edition is not a disc release: the box contains a download code for the game and bonus pack. You need an internet connection and enough console storage to redeem and install it.
What does Ultimate add?
Ultimate costs $20 more and contains the Standard game and bonus package plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade. Rockstar’s listing describes the upgrade content by category: premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, shops, salons, tattoo parlors and story-related content. The exact in-game items and availability are the ones shown on the store page for your platform and region.

Yes. After redeeming the digital download code, Standard owners can purchase the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately through the PlayStation or Microsoft storefront. Buying Standard first therefore does not permanently prevent access to the Ultimate content, although the combined price and any regional or promotional pricing should be checked before choosing that route.

What the GTA 6 pre-order bonuses include
Vintage Vice City Pack
Rockstar’s support description lists three parts:
- The ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and a garage
- Outfits and hairstyles
- An exclusive weapon pattern
Rockstar says eligible digital pre-orders and purchases made before November 20, 2026 receive the pack. The physical Standard product also contains a code for the game and bonus pack, but you must redeem the code on an account and platform that match the product’s region.
One month of GTA+
The one-month subscription offer has platform-specific redemption conditions and is not a permanent subscription discount.
- PlayStation: the month must be claimed by March 31, 2027. It is limited to the account used to buy the game and continues at the regular monthly price until canceled.
- Xbox: the month must be redeemed within 180 days after the pre-order. It is limited to one redemption per platform account and is unavailable to child accounts restricted from age-rated content.
Read the redemption screen before accepting the offer. If the subscription converts to the regular monthly rate, cancel it through the relevant platform account before the trial month ends if you do not want a recurring charge.

Digital versus physical GTA 6 pre-orders
Digital purchase
Digital orders are tied to the PlayStation or Xbox account that completes the transaction. They support the November 12 preload and let you play at launch without waiting for a shipment. The one-month GTA+ promotion is explicitly described for eligible digital purchases, with the account and deadline restrictions above.
Physical Standard Edition
The physical Standard Edition is a code-in-box product. Rockstar and Take-Two state that the box contains a download code and that no disc is included. The code covers the game and bonus pack; installation still takes place through the platform’s network. Physical copies are scheduled to be available from November 12 to support preloading.
Choose physical only if you want a boxed product, a retailer’s payment or cancellation process, or the option to give the unused code to someone else where the retailer and platform terms permit. Do not buy it expecting offline disc play or a disc that can be inserted into another console.
Region and account compatibility
Rockstar says code redemption depends on the region associated with the platform account and recommends buying from a retailer in the same country as that account. A mismatch can prevent activation. Before ordering, verify the console platform, country or region, seller and code region shown on the listing.

Where to pre-order GTA 6
Rockstar identifies these purchase channels:
- PlayStation Store for PlayStation 5 digital editions
- Xbox Store for Xbox Series X|S digital editions
- Rockstar Store, including physical products where offered
- Select retailers and third-party storefronts in supported countries
Retailer inventory, delivery dates, taxes and retailer-exclusive promotions are not fixed. Open the live listing for your country and confirm all of the following before checkout:
- The edition is Standard or Ultimate as intended.
- The product is for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, not a different platform.
- A physical listing says code-in-box if you require a box, and does not imply that a disc is included.
- The seller’s country and code region match your platform account.
- The delivery or pickup date works for your November 19 launch plans.
- The listed refund and cancellation terms apply to pre-orders and to your payment method.
How to pre-order safely
- Check your console and account. Sign in to the PlayStation or Microsoft account on which you will play. Confirm that it is an adult account if you intend to redeem the Xbox GTA+ month, since restricted child accounts cannot use that offer.
- Select the edition. Compare the $79.99 Standard price with the $99.99 Ultimate price and read the Ultimate content list on your platform’s current product page.
- Choose digital or physical. Digital editions preload automatically through the storefront. A physical Standard order supplies a download code, not a disc, and may require shipment or store pickup.
- Verify region. Buy from the same country as the platform account whenever possible. Do not assume that a cheaper foreign listing will redeem successfully.
- Review bonus terms. Confirm that the Vintage Vice City Pack and GTA+ month appear in the offer details, then note the relevant March 31, 2027 PlayStation deadline or 180-day Xbox deadline.
- Save your receipt. Keep the order number, seller name, platform, edition and payment record. You will need those details for a cancellation, refund or delivery dispute.
- Check the order after purchase. Digital buyers should see the game in the console library or downloads list. Physical buyers should monitor the retailer’s shipment or pickup status and protect the code until redemption.
How cancellations and refunds work
There is no single GTA 6 refund window that applies worldwide. Responsibility follows the seller that accepted your payment, and the applicable rule can vary by country, payment method and whether a digital code has been redeemed.

Before requesting a refund
- Identify the exact seller on your receipt; contacting Rockstar will not transfer responsibility from a platform or retailer.
- Do not redeem a digital code while deciding whether to cancel. Redemption can affect eligibility under the seller’s policy.
- For a physical order, request cancellation before dispatch when the retailer’s terms require it, and keep the order number.
- Ask about any GTA+ subscription separately. If it has started recurring billing, cancel the subscription through the platform account as well as requesting a game refund.
- If the seller rejects the request, ask which country, payment method or redemption rule caused the decision and retain the written response.
Rockstar’s customer-support guidance specifically says physical pre-order cancellations are handled by the retailer where the purchase was made. That means a retailer order must be canceled with that retailer even when the product carries Rockstar branding.

Is the Ultimate Edition worth $20 more?
The answer depends on how you value optional in-game content, not on launch access: both editions release on November 19, 2026, and both receive the same stated pre-order bonus package.

Choose Standard when
- You primarily want the base game and the Vintage Vice City Pack.
- You are unsure whether the Ultimate vehicles, weapons, apparel, shops, salons, tattoo parlors and story-related content will matter to you.
- You want to keep the initial cost at $79.99 and decide later.
- You may buy the Ultimate Edition Upgrade after redeeming Standard, once you have seen the content list and your platform’s price.
Choose Ultimate when
- You already know you want every Ultimate-only category listed on your platform page.
- You prefer paying the $20 difference up front rather than making a later upgrade purchase.
- You are comfortable with the edition’s content being digital entitlements tied to your platform account.
Because Rockstar offers a separate Ultimate Edition Upgrade for Standard owners, waiting is a reasonable risk-control option when the extra content is not yet important to you. Compare the eventual upgrade price with the $20 difference before assuming that buying separately will cost the same.
Common pre-order problems and fixes
The code will not redeem
Check that the code is for the correct console, has not already been used, and matches the country or region of your platform account. If the regions differ, contact the retailer before opening a second account or attempting repeated redemptions.
The GTA+ month is missing
Confirm that the purchase qualifies as a digital order, that you are signed into the buying account, and that the applicable deadline has not passed. On Xbox, verify that the account is not a child account restricted from age-rated content and that the one-redemption-per-account limit has not been used.

Look at the retailer’s dispatch and pickup status rather than the platform’s digital library. Physical availability starts November 12, but the retailer controls its shipping estimate. Contact that retailer with the order number for delivery questions.
You were charged after the GTA+ month
The PlayStation offer continues at the regular monthly price until canceled. Cancel the subscription in the PlayStation account before the promotional month ends, then contact PlayStation Support about any charge you believe was unauthorized or incorrectly applied.
You ordered from the wrong seller
Use the seller named on the receipt. PlayStation and Xbox orders go to the respective platform support channels; Rockstar Store physical orders go through Xsolla; all other physical orders go to the retailer. Keep the original payment record because a different company may not be able to locate the transaction.

For most buyers, the practical decision is Standard versus Ultimate content and digital versus code-in-box format. The release date, base game and stated pre-order pack do not change between editions.
