Those details make for nine promising exploration angles—but they do not confirm a particular activity system or how long players will spend with it.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, according to Take-Two Interactive’s announcement. The list below separates what official sources establish from what remains a possibility.
What is confirmed about GTA 6’s setting and gameplay?
Rockstar places GTA VI in Vice City and the wider state of Leonida, with Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos at the center of a criminal story. Its official game page and Only in Leonida page name several destinations and describe characters and settings tied to music, nightlife, smuggling, and local crime.
That establishes a setting and story context, not a complete gameplay feature list. A location mentioned by Rockstar is not proof of its size, activities, or how freely players can explore it. Likewise, a scene in an official image shows what the image depicts; it does not by itself confirm that the scene is a repeatable, player-controlled activity. The nine angles below are an editorial way to explore the confirmed material, not nine officially announced features.

Where is GTA 6 set? Nine grounded exploration angles
1. Vice City’s neighborhoods and neon atmosphere
Vice City is the central named destination in Rockstar’s description of Leonida. Its city setting invites attention to the contrast between urban streets, nightlife, and the surrounding state. Rockstar has not established particular neighborhood systems or the city’s dimensions, so treat those as questions for the finished game rather than confirmed features.
2. The Leonida Keys and coastal scenery
The Leonida Keys are one of Rockstar’s named regions, and the official PlayStation product page depicts a seaplane over the Keys. The setting and image support a coastal exploration angle, but they do not establish whether aircraft are available to players, how flight works, or what activities the region contains.

3. Grassrivers’ wetlands and waterways
Rockstar names Grassrivers, while PlayStation’s official images include a boat in a swampy landscape. Together, those details point to wetlands and water as part of Leonida’s visual variety. They do not confirm boating mechanics, wildlife populations, or how weather behaves.
4. Port Gellhorn as a distinct destination
Port Gellhorn appears among Rockstar’s named locations. Its presence gives players another place to watch for as the state’s geography and story come into view. The official setting description reviewed here does not specify its size, activities, or role in missions.

5. Ambrosia and the state’s regional variety
Ambrosia is another named Leonida destination. Its value as an exploration hook is the opportunity to see how a distinct location fits into the larger setting; claims about its industry, layout, or missions go beyond what Rockstar has established.
6. Mount Kalaga and a nature-focused possibility
Rockstar names Mount Kalaga, and PlayStation’s product page depicts hunting in woodland. The image makes a nature-focused setting a reasonable point of interest, but it does not confirm a hunting system or establish that the scene takes place within Mount Kalaga or a national park.

7. Places shaped by Jason and Lucia’s story
Rockstar describes Jason and Lucia as relying on one another amid a conspiracy spanning Leonida. The official description says, “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them.” That story gives players a reason to notice how locations connect to the couple’s criminal predicament, but it does not confirm co-op or unrestricted character switching.
8. Social settings around music, nightlife, and local crime
Rockstar’s descriptions of supporting characters connect Leonida’s world with music, nightlife, local business, and smuggling. Those contexts may make the people and places around Jason and Lucia worth watching as the story unfolds. They are not proof that businesses are fully interactive or that every described setting is an activity.

9. PS5 audio and controller feedback
For players on PS5, Sony lists Tempest 3D Audio, fast loading through the PS5 SSD, DualSense haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and controller speaker effects on its product page. These features could add sensory detail while moving through Leonida, but they are PS5-specific descriptions—not promises about the Xbox version.

Official PlayStation images show Lucia at a punching bag, a seaplane over the Keys, hunting in woodland, and a boat in a swampy area. Those are confirmed depictions, not confirmation of training, aircraft, hunting, or boating systems that players can freely access or repeat. Rockstar’s public material cited here does not provide an official list of activities or guarantee how much time any one feature will occupy.
Which platforms and versions are announced?
Take-Two’s June 24, 2026 announcement lists November 19, 2026, as the launch date for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It lists the Standard Edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. These are the announced prices, which may change; check current listings before buying. Sony’s product page also lists PS5 Pro.
Rockstar Support says the boxed physical retail version contains a download code and no disc.
