For Bing search performance, Bing Webmaster Tools is the closest direct alternative to Google Search Console. For Google search data, however, no tool in this comparison replaces Search Console as Google’s own reporting source. Spreadsheet add-ons can make its data easier to analyze, while SEO suites and site-audit tools add different kinds of research. The right choice depends on which search engine and monitoring job you need to cover.

What a Google Search Console alternative can—and cannot—replace

Google Search Console (GSC) reports on a property’s presence in Google Search. Google lists search traffic and query information, indexing issues, re-indexing requests, alerts, and links to the site among its functions. Its reports are specific to Google’s search ecosystem; see Google’s Search Console overview.

“Alternative” can mean a second search engine’s webmaster service, a way to extract and reshape GSC data, or a broader SEO product that adds audits or competitor analysis. Those products may complement GSC, but they do not become another source of Google’s first-party Search Console data simply because they show search-related metrics.

Bing Webmaster Tools: the direct alternative for Bing

Bing Webmaster Tools (BWT) is the closest counterpart when you want to monitor how a site performs in Bing. Microsoft documents performance reports and filters, crawl and index information, URL inspection, sitemap reporting, SEO reports, and IndexNow. Its comparison of BWT and GSC makes the key distinction clear: each tool reports on its own search ecosystem. Read Microsoft’s comparison of Bing Webmaster Tools and Google Search Console for the feature overview.

That makes BWT a companion to GSC for sites that care about both engines—not a replacement for Google’s data. Microsoft Principal Product Manager Fabrice Canel described the services as bringing different strengths to an SEO toolkit; that is Microsoft’s perspective on its own product and Google’s service, rather than evidence that either tool covers the other’s search results.

Tools that extend GSC or add different SEO analysis

Other products commonly grouped under “GSC alternatives” address narrower or broader tasks. A commercial alternatives guide from SEOTesting identifies Search Analytics for Sheets, Ahrefs Webmaster Tools, Semrush, and Similarweb in these adjacent categories. Product features, prices, and usage limits can change, so check the vendor’s current details before choosing.

Tool or category What it is useful for Relationship to GSC data
Bing Webmaster Tools Monitoring Bing search performance and webmaster information, including crawling and indexing. First-party reporting for Bing; it does not replace Google’s Search Console reports.
Search Analytics for Sheets More flexible spreadsheet-based analysis and extraction of Google search data. An extension for working with GSC data, not a new source of Google search data. Check current limits and pricing with the vendor.
Ahrefs Webmaster Tools Audits and backlink information for a verified site. Complementary site analysis; it is not a substitute for GSC’s Google search reporting.
Semrush or similar SEO suites Broader SEO and competitor research. Additional analysis rather than a replacement source for Google’s first-party Search Console data. Check the vendor for current features and costs.

These categories and examples are summarized in SEOTesting’s guide to Google Search Console alternatives. It is a vendor-authored guide, so treat it as a discovery aid and confirm current capabilities and commercial terms directly with each provider.

Choose by the monitoring job you need to do

  • Need performance and indexing information for Bing? Add Bing Webmaster Tools. Keep GSC for Google.
  • Need to sort, extract, or report on Google search data in spreadsheets? Consider a GSC-connected spreadsheet add-on such as Search Analytics for Sheets. It changes how you work with the data, not where Google’s data comes from.
  • Need audits or backlink information for a verified site? Consider Ahrefs Webmaster Tools as a complement, and confirm its current scope with Ahrefs.
  • Need competitor research or a broader SEO workflow? Evaluate a suite such as Semrush against the specific reports and analysis you need, and check its current plans and capabilities.
  • Need a single replacement for all GSC functions? The options covered here do not provide a like-for-like replacement for Google’s own search performance and indexing information.

Practical setup: use complementary tools without confusing their data

  1. Keep Google Search Console as the Google reference. Use it for the property’s Google Search reporting and the indexing or site issues it surfaces.
  2. Add Bing Webmaster Tools for Bing. Treat its performance and crawl/index reports as Bing-specific, rather than merging them with Google figures as if they came from one engine.
  3. Add an analysis tool only for a defined gap. Choose a spreadsheet add-on for extraction and reporting, an audit tool for site and backlink analysis, or a broader suite for competitor research.
  4. Verify product scope and terms before relying on it. Confirm current integrations, access requirements, limits, features, and pricing on the vendor’s own site; do not assume these remain as described in third-party guides.

For many site owners, the useful answer is not to replace GSC but to pair it with the tool that covers the missing search engine or task. Bing Webmaster Tools adds Bing’s view; spreadsheet and SEO products add workflows or analyses around and beyond that first-party reporting.
