Pixel 9a unboxing, hands-on and review videos appeared online before Google announced the phone on March 19, 2025. They revealed much of the hardware early; Google later confirmed the core specifications and set a $499 starting price, with availability beginning April 10, 2025 in the US, Canada and UK.
What the Pixel 9a leak revealed
Android Authority reported on March 18, 2025, that a six-minute Pixel 9a review video had surfaced ahead of Google’s announcement. A hands-on unboxing and benchmark video had appeared the day before. The footage showed the phone from multiple angles and offered an early look at its design and hardware. The report attributed the videos to early availability in places such as Dubai. The leak pointed to a Tensor G4 processor, a 120Hz display, a 5,100mAh battery, seven years of software support, a plastic build and an Exynos 5300 modem. Those were pre-launch claims, not final specifications. Google’s specification page subsequently confirmed the processor, battery capacity, display range and update commitment. It does not establish the leaked modem claim here, so that detail should not be treated as an official specification.

How to read the leak now
- Confirmed: Tensor G4, a display that refreshes at up to 120Hz, a 5,100mAh typical battery and seven years of updates all appear in Google’s later specifications.
- Not confirmed by the cited official specifications: The leak’s Exynos 5300 modem claim. Treat it as reporting about a pre-launch device, not a settled published specification.
- Best comparison points: When evaluating the Pixel 9a against another phone, compare the confirmed price, display, cameras, battery, durability and length of software support rather than relying on unverified leak details.
