Pixel 11 vs Galaxy S26 at a glance
This comparison covers the standard 6.3-inch Google Pixel 11 and Samsung Galaxy S26, not the Pixel Pro, Galaxy S26+ or Galaxy S26 Ultra. The specifications below come from Google and Samsung; their brightness and battery claims are not independent, directly comparable test results.
| Category | Google Pixel 11 | Samsung Galaxy S26 |
|---|---|---|

Which phone should you buy?
Choose Pixel 11 for Google’s software and charging options
The Pixel is the better fit if you want Google’s own Android experience and Pixel features, or if Qi2.2 magnetic wireless charging is important to you. Its listed typical battery capacity is 4,985mAh, compared with 4,300mAh for the S26. That is a capacity difference, not proof that the Pixel lasts longer between charges.
Google’s stated wired charging rate—up to 55% in about 30 minutes—requires a separately sold 30W USB-C PPS charger or higher. Google’s launch announcement also highlights camera upgrades, but it does not provide an independent head-to-head camera result.

Choose Galaxy S26 for Samsung’s features and a lighter listed weight
The Galaxy S26 makes more sense if you prefer Samsung’s One UI and Galaxy AI tools, or want a dedicated 3x optical telephoto camera. Samsung lists the standard S26 at 167g, 30g less than Google’s listed 197g for Pixel 11. Weight is a specification; it cannot tell you which phone will feel more comfortable in your hand.
Samsung’s US listing identifies the S26 processor as Exynos 2600. Chip names alone do not establish which phone is faster, cooler or more power-efficient in everyday use. Samsung says the S26 does not include a charger.

How do their screens, size and portability compare?
Both phones are in the 6.3-inch screen-size class, so the listed diagonal is unlikely to decide between them. Google specifies a 1080 × 2424 OLED panel with a 60–120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness up to 3,000 nits. Samsung specifies a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with peak brightness up to 2,600 nits on its US product information.
Those peak-brightness figures are manufacturer specifications, not measurements from the same independent test. They should not be treated as proof that one display is brighter or easier to see outdoors. The more concrete portability distinction in the published specifications is the S26’s lower listed weight.

Which phone has the better camera?
The Galaxy S26 has the more fully specified camera hardware in the available product information: a 50MP wide camera, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP telephoto and 3x optical zoom. It also lists digital zoom up to 30x. Google describes Pixel 11’s camera system as upgraded, but the cited specifications do not establish a comparable hardware breakdown or a measured photo-quality winner.
Megapixel counts and zoom ranges do not show which phone takes better photos. The information here does not establish a winner for still photos, low-light shots, video or shutter speed. If those are your deciding factors, compare controlled side-by-side samples from the exact models and software versions you plan to buy.

How do battery life and charging compare?
Pixel 11 has a larger listed typical capacity: 4,985mAh versus 4,300mAh for Galaxy S26. Samsung states up to 30 hours of video playback for the S26 under its own stated conditions. These are different kinds of manufacturer claims; neither capacity nor a vendor playback estimate proves which phone lasts longer in your daily mix of calls, apps, camera use and screen time.
For charging, Google specifies Qi2.2-certified Pixelsnap wireless charging up to 25W. Its stated wired charging rate of up to 55% in about 30 minutes requires a separately purchased 30W USB-C PPS charger or higher. Samsung says a charger is not included with the Galaxy S26. Check the box contents and charging requirements for the specific regional model and retailer.

How do software, AI and updates compare?
Different software ecosystems, not a universal AI winner
Google says Pixel 11 uses Tensor G6 and its latest Gemini Nano model. Samsung’s S26 page describes One UI and Galaxy AI features including Now Nudge, Now Brief, Bixby and Photo Assist. Google’s on-device Gemini model is not exclusive to Pixel: Google says its advanced Scam Detection is available directly in the Samsung Phone app on Galaxy S26 devices, alerting users when a potential scam is detected. That statement does not establish detection accuracy or availability in every region.
Feature access can depend on country, language, account, age or usage conditions. Samsung reported in March 2026 that Photo Assist and Creative Studio supported 41 languages, while Now Nudge and recalled data for Now Brief supported 13. These are dated availability figures, not a promise that every feature works in every market or will remain unchanged. Compare the specific tools you expect to use rather than choosing on a broad claim that one brand has “better AI.”
Both brands make long support commitments
Google lists seven years of OS and security updates for Pixel 11. Samsung promises seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates for the Galaxy S26 series, counted from global launch. These commitments use different wording; they do not establish identical update schedules or end dates.
What do the Pixel 11 and Galaxy S26 cost?
In the United States, Google’s August 25, 2026 on-sale announcement gave a starting price of $899 for Pixel 11. At retrieval on October 7, 2026, Samsung’s US unlocked 256GB Galaxy S26 purchase page displayed a $899.99 list price and a $799.99 sale price. Samsung’s sale price is time-sensitive and may change; the figures are not a like-for-like price guarantee across retailers or markets. Verify local prices, storage configurations and promotions before ordering.
Processor variants and software or feature availability can also differ by market. Samsung’s US listing names Exynos 2600; do not assume that chipset applies to every regional S26 model. The cited US prices do not establish what either phone costs elsewhere.
