If your images are already in Google Photos, its described workflow lets you start with a suggested book, an album, or a search. You can adjust the photo selection, add a title, and choose a cover. The workflow description is older, so check the current app before relying on particular screen names or steps. Google’s product blog mentioned launch-era starting prices of $9.99 for books and $0.18 per print around 2021. Those are historical figures, not current offers; use the order flow for today’s price.
Allow for production, shipping, and pickup
Google Photos photo books
Google says US books may take 2–4 business days to print and package. For continental-US delivery, its listed estimates are 8–11 business days for economy, 6–10 for standard, and 5–7 for priority. These are estimates, not guaranteed deadlines. Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico have different options or estimates, and US and Canadian buyers can ship only to an address in the country where they bought the book. Shutterfly’s Super Rush service is limited to eligible US street addresses and selected book formats and sizes. Its listed book sizes include 8×8, 8×11, 11×8, 10×10, 12×12, and 11×14, with standard pages and specified cover types. Print pickup
For US home delivery, Google lists seven print sizes: 4×6, 5×7, 8×10, 11×14, 12×18, 16×20, and 20×30 inches. Home-delivered prints are matte. Google lists pickup at CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart: CVS and Walgreens prints are glossy, while Walmart prints are matte. Shutterfly says same-day pickup is available at hundreds of US CVS locations and that prints are typically shipped within one day; those are Shutterfly’s service descriptions, not guarantees for every order or location. What can be said about print quality?
A direct quality winner is not established. Tom’s Guide’s August 2026 review described its Shutterfly book as premium-feeling and well-priced, but criticized its color accuracy. If color fidelity matters most, the available evidence is not enough to choose between the services. Review the image previews and any resolution warnings, inspect paper and finish choices, and check the provider’s return or reprint terms before paying.
