Google does not promise a fixed number of Gemini prompts per day for personal accounts. Instead, usage is governed by compute-based limits that depend on the model and features you use, prompt complexity, and conversation length. Google’s published tiers put AI Pro at 4× standard usage and AI Ultra at either 5× or 20× AI Pro, depending on the subscription. Your account’s current limits and refresh information appear in Gemini Apps under Settings → Usage limits.

What are the Gemini limits for free users?

For personal Google Accounts without a Google AI plan, Google lists Gemini Apps usage as subject to “standard limits.” It does not give a universal prompt total in its plan comparison. Limits are compute-based, so the amount of use available can vary with the model, feature, complexity of requests, and length of a conversation.

Google says capacity changes can cause people without an AI plan to encounter restrictions earlier. Limits may change without notice, so the published tier is not a guaranteed daily allowance.

How many Gemini prompts do Google AI Plus and Pro include?

Google describes paid-plan usage as a relative tier rather than a fixed prompt quota. The figures below are Google’s published Gemini Apps plan descriptors for personal Google Accounts, reviewed October 5, 2026.

Personal Google Account plan Published Gemini Apps usage tier Context window
No Google AI plan Standard limits 32K tokens
Google AI Plus 2× standard 128K tokens
Google AI Pro 4× standard 1 million tokens
Google AI Ultra 5× or 20× AI Pro, depending on subscription 1 million tokens

Google does not state a fixed number of prompts for these tiers in the Gemini Apps limits and upgrades comparison. Pro therefore offers a higher relative usage tier than standard access, not a guaranteed count of messages.

Does Gemini Ultra have higher limits than Pro?

Yes, according to Google’s comparison, but Ultra does not have one universal multiplier: it is listed as 5× or 20× AI Pro, depending on the subscription. The comparison does not make those two figures interchangeable, so check the tier associated with your specific Ultra subscription.

What do the context-window numbers mean?

A context window is how much text or other input Gemini can consider at once; it is separate from how many prompts you can send. The listed windows range from 32K tokens without a plan to 1 million tokens on Pro and Ultra. Google illustrates a 1-million-token context as up to 1,500 pages of text or 30,000 lines of code. That is an example, not a guarantee that every file or task will fit or be handled equally well. If the input exceeds the context, the model may miss details or relationships across the material.

Which Gemini models and features are included?

Google’s current plan comparison lists Gemini 3 Flash-Lite, Gemini 3 Flash, and Gemini 3 Pro across all displayed tiers, including access without a Google AI plan. Model names and availability can change. More advanced models and higher thinking levels use more of the available usage.

Deep Think is listed as an AI Ultra feature and requires the Pro model. Deep Research appears in the plan comparison, but Google cautions that compute-intensive features such as Deep Research may be unavailable without a Google AI plan during high demand. Google’s separate Deep Research help page says there are daily request and concurrent-request limits; it does not state exact counts in the reviewed guidance. Pro and Ultra users have higher report limits, but that does not mean unlimited reports.

When do Gemini limits reset?

Google says usage limits refresh every five hours until a weekly limit is reached. When you approach or hit a limit, Gemini Apps displays an in-product notification, including when the limit will refresh. The five-hour refresh does not mean every type of usage becomes available again on a fixed daily schedule once a weekly limit has been reached.

How to check your account’s current limits

  1. Open Gemini Apps while signed in to the personal Google Account you use.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select Usage limits to see the limits shown for your account.

Google notes that Gemini Apps limits may change, including because of capacity constraints. Paid access expands the published usage tier, but does not remove compute-based limits or guarantee access to every feature at all times.

Who this comparison applies to

The plan comparison covers personal Google Accounts. Work and school accounts follow separate account and licensing guidance, so do not assume these tiers apply to Workspace or education access. Google also notes age and regional eligibility conditions for some plans and features; the comparison alone does not establish eligibility for a particular account.
