A security incident disclosed in May 2026 affected systems run by GFN.AM, an Armenian third-party GeForce NOW Alliance partner—not NVIDIA-operated services. Reports say names and other identity or contact details may have been exposed, but passwords were not affected. The widely repeated claim that more than half a million gamers were affected has not been confirmed by a published official count.
Was GeForce NOW hacked?
A third-party partner in the GeForce NOW Alliance reported unauthorized access to its systems. NVIDIA said its investigation found no impact to services it operates and that the incident was limited to systems run by its Armenia-based partner. GFN.AM is operated by GFN CLOUD INTERNET SERVICES LLC, an Armenian company.

“Our investigation found no impact to NVIDIA-operated services. The issue is limited to systems run by a third-party GeForce NOW Alliance partner based in Armenia. We are working closely with the partner to support their investigation and resolution. Impacted users will be notified by GFN.am.”
NVIDIA’s statement was reproduced by VideoCardz. In practical terms, this was a breach affecting a partner’s systems, not evidence that NVIDIA’s global GeForce NOW infrastructure was compromised.

What information was reportedly exposed?
TechRadar reported that the incident took place from March 20 through March 28, 2026. Reports listed names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth and usernames among the information that may have been exposed. Coverage also mentioned membership and two-factor authentication (2FA) status metadata.

GFN.AM said it took steps to eliminate the causes of unauthorized access and implemented additional organizational and technical measures, according to a statement relayed by PC Gamer. How many gamers were affected?
A verified total has not been published in the reporting covered here. Despite the claim in the headline, no searched source provides an official count confirming that more than 500,000 people were affected. Do not treat claims about “millions of records” as proof of the number of individual gamers involved: records and people are not necessarily the same count.
Until GFN.AM or NVIDIA releases a formal figure, the number of affected users remains unconfirmed.

Am I affected if I use GeForce NOW outside Armenia?
The clearest risk group is people who registered through GFN.AM or used its regional service. IT之家 reported that the partner served Armenia and several nearby markets, but the available incident reporting does not establish a complete list of affected countries or accounts.
NVIDIA-operated GeForce NOW users outside the partner environment were not indicated to be affected by this incident. If you are unsure which operator handled your account, check the service or account communications you received from GFN.AM; do not assume that every GeForce NOW account was involved.

What should you do after the GFN.AM breach?
- Watch for a direct notice. GFN.AM said impacted users would be notified. Check your account’s usual communication channels, but do not use links in an unexpected message to sign in.
- Turn on 2FA. Enable two-factor authentication on your GFN.AM account if it is available and not already enabled. PC Gamer specifically advised Armenian users to activate it.
- Change reused passwords. Passwords were reported as unaffected in the incident, but change your password anywhere else you reused it. Use a different password for each service.
- Be alert for phishing. Unexpected messages claiming to be from NVIDIA or GeForce NOW could exploit the incident. Verify requests through the service’s official account or support channels rather than replying or opening message links. VideoCardz and PC Gamer warned users to be cautious of phishing.
What is still unknown?
- A formally confirmed number of affected users.
- A complete public list of affected accounts or countries.
- Whether payment information was involved; the supplied incident reports do not state this.
- A detailed, independently verified account of the data accessed and how the incident unfolded.
These gaps do not change the core distinction in NVIDIA’s statement: the disclosed incident was limited to the Armenian partner’s systems, while NVIDIA said its own operated services were not affected.
