meinGAMING is a household electricity tariff marketed to people using at least 2,500 kWh a year—not a special power supply for gaming PCs. Whether it saves money depends on the customer’s postcode, total household use, fixed and per-kWh charges, and any bonus. Its name speaks to gamers; the tariff’s economics are about household consumption.
What is meinGAMING?
meinGAMING is an electricity tariff offered by a German utility. The provider says it is intended for households that use at least 2,500 kWh per year and describes its structure as a low working price alongside a higher base charge. That can suit a household with substantial annual use because the fixed charge is spread across more kilowatt-hours. The provider also markets the electricity as renewable, backed by guarantees of origin; that is the provider’s description of the offer. meinGAMING’s tariff information gives local availability and terms.
The “gaming” label does not mean the electricity is different, routed separately, or capable of improving a PC’s performance. ComputerBase characterizes the offer as a conventional household tariff. A heat pump or electric vehicle on the same meter can contribute to the usage that matters just as a gaming setup can. ComputerBase’s report explains why the name should not be mistaken for a technical feature.
Who can get it, and where?
The provider’s Donaueschingen page names Donaueschingen, Tuttlingen, and areas where the tariff is available; it does not establish nationwide availability. Check the postcode-specific offer before comparing or switching. Eligibility, service area, prices, and bonuses can vary locally and change over time.

- Various Monitoring Parameters: The power meter plug can monitor the power (W), energy (kWh), volts, amps, hertz, power factor, cost, minimum and maximum power (W), cumulative days and time of your appliances. By switching 7 display modes, you can easily know the various parameters while the appliance is working. The home energy monitor can also calculate and display how much power your appliance uses and how much electricity bill it cost in cumulative time
- Upgraded LCD Display: With large screen size 2.36 inch x 1.85 inch, clearer monitor backlit, our electrical usage monitor can display the data clearer and more visible no matter day or night. 180°full wide viewing angles is great for reading and recording the data in any angles. No need to stand on the front of the display and bend over to read the numbers
- Adjustable Backlight Time: Our upgraded watt meter has 5 options of backlight time. The default backlight time duration is 10 minutes(bL-0). If you want to change the backlight time, you can press and hold "UP" and "DOWN" button at the same time to enter backlight time setting, then press "UP" and "DOWN" to select the backlight time (bL-0 =10 minutes, bL-1=1 hour, bL-2=4 hours, bL-3=8 hours, bL-4=always on), finally press the "COST" to save the backlight time settings
- Overload protection: When the power of the appliance exceeds the overload power, the LCD will display “OVERLOAD” to warn the user. All the buttons will quit working and can only be workable when you lower or remove the load power. The default overload power is 3680W and is adjustable from 0 to 3680W. In general, you need to set the overload power to 1800W before using. Just press the "function" button for more than 3 seconds to enter the setting
- Data Memory Function: The wattage meter will record your power consumption data when you remove it from socket, or remove appliances from the electricity monitor. You can directly see the last data when you use it next time. This function can also automatically save the data when there is a sudden power failure
The 2,500 kWh threshold is the provider’s stated target, not proof that every household above it will save. A high-use household should compare the actual local tariff against its current contract and other available offers using its full annual meter consumption.
How much does it cost—and could it be cheaper?
There is no single price or saving that applies across Germany. On its Düsseldorf page, meinGAMING labels its price data as of 3 October 2026. The provider lists a working price of 31.00 ct/kWh and a base price of €10.22 per month, and describes a €100 first-year bonus. The same page’s FAQ gives a first-year price of 31.65 ct/kWh, compares it with a stated basic-supply rate of 35.75 ct/kWh, and estimates first-year savings of €143.58 at 3,500 kWh. These are provider-published Düsseldorf figures and a provider estimate, not a national quote or independently verified saving; confirm the current offer for the relevant postcode and household.

By switching 8 display modes, you can easily know the various parameters while the appliance is working. The “electricity” mode can calculate and display how much power your appliance uses. And the “total cost” mode will show how much electricity bill it cost in cumulative time
- Overload protection: When the loading power of the appliance is over the default overload threshold 1800W, the whole display with backlight and the word “OVERLOAD” will keep flashing to warn the users. Please turn off the appliance for safety concern
- Premium Material: The whole body of our energy meter is made of high-quality ABS material. It makes our home electricity usage monitor more long lasting, fireproof and anti-drop. The standard US socket and plug is suitable for all US standard appliances
- Backlight Display: With white backlight and black words, the LCD display of our home power monitor can display the data clearer and help you to read the data easier no matter day or night. The backlight will only lights up when the device is connected to AC power. If no button is pressed, the backlight turns off automatically after 10 minutes. You can also press the "UP" button to turn off the backlight manually, and press any button to turn on backlight again
- Easy to reset: No reset tool needed, our appliance power usage meter is easy to reset. You can press the “M” button for 5 seconds directly to reset the device. After reset, all cumulative data (electricity quantity, cost) will be cleared, and all settings will be restored to factory settings
The page also lists a 24-month contract duration and energy price guarantee for the Düsseldorf offer. Read the specific terms to establish what the guarantee covers, when the bonus is credited, and what the tariff costs after the introductory bonus period. A first-year comparison that counts a bonus can look different from the ongoing cost without it.

- Working price: the charge per kWh.
- Base price: the recurring fixed charge, usually stated monthly or annually.
- Bonus: whether it is one-time, when it is paid, and how it changes first-year cost.
- Contract and price guarantee: the duration and the terms that apply during it.
- Cost after the bonus: the recurring annual cost once any introductory credit is gone.
ComputerBase notes that the fixed charge has less impact per kWh as consumption rises, but that does not by itself make the tariff cheaper. The unit price, base charge, bonus, and local alternatives all affect the result. Use the household’s total annual kWh—not only the PC’s estimated use—to judge the tariff.
How much electricity does gaming use?
Gaming electricity use depends on the device, its power draw, and how long it runs. Verivox displays a range of 350 to 800 watts for gaming PCs as an overview, not a universal reading for every computer. Its calculation method is to multiply device power by hours of use to estimate energy, then multiply that energy by the applicable electricity rate to estimate cost. Verivox’s gaming-PC guide describes this approach.

For example, a device drawing 500 W for two hours would use 1 kWh (500 W × 2 hours = 1,000 Wh). At a hypothetical rate of 30 ct/kWh, that energy would cost 30 cents. The example excludes other household loads and does not include any fixed charge; actual PC draw varies by system and activity.
Measure your own setup
A plug-in energy monitor or smart plug with energy monitoring can show the electricity used by a compatible device or setup over a chosen period. Measure representative sessions, then scale cautiously to your actual weekly or annual use. The result helps estimate gaming’s contribution to the bill; it cannot establish whether a household tariff is competitive, because that requires comparing the whole meter’s use and all tariff charges.

When does meinGAMING make sense?
It is worth considering if the local offer is available and your household’s annual consumption is near or above the provider’s stated threshold. It may be less attractive if the base charge outweighs the lower unit price at your actual consumption, if a competing offer has a lower total cost, or if the first-year bonus makes an otherwise higher recurring price look favorable. Compare the full contract terms and expected costs for your own postcode before deciding.
