Garfield – Escape from Monday is a light, single-player 3D platformer that looks like a better fit for younger players than for experienced platform-game fans. MeriStation’s September 2026 review praised Garfield’s humor but criticized the controls, challenge and repetitive collecting, giving the game 6/10. What is Garfield – Escape from Monday?
Developed by OSome Studio and published by Microids, Garfield – Escape from Monday launched on September 24, 2026, for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Steam lists the PC version as a single-player Adventure game with achievements, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing. Microids’ launch announcement and the Steam listing establish those release details.
The story begins when Jon feeds Garfield spinach lasagna inspired by Chef Monday. Garfield falls asleep and finds himself in a nightmare populated by vegetables and sugar-free candy. He explores, confronts or avoids enemies and challenges, and collects lasagna in an effort to wake up and get his taste back. Jon, Odie, Arlene and Pookie are among the familiar characters, while Microids names Nermal and Squeak as adversaries. Microids and Steam describe the premise and cast.
Movement, costumes and collectibles
Microids describes jumping, climbing walls and curling into a ball, along with three costumes that grant different abilities: a turkey costume for airborne movement, a surfer costume for sliding over water, and a cowboy costume for swinging with a lasso. Is Garfield – Escape from Monday worth playing on PC?
Based on MeriStation’s review, it may suit players looking for a straightforward, low-pressure platformer built around Garfield’s personality. The reviewer praised the cat’s acidic humor and fourth-wall jokes, and found that shifts in perspective add some variety. But the same review describes imprecise, clumsy controls, weak challenge, repetitive collection, basic visuals and environmental interaction, and unremarkable music. MeriStation scored it 6/10. The key trade-off is accessibility versus polish and depth: a younger or less demanding player may enjoy the familiar character and uncomplicated objectives, while a genre veteran may want more responsive handling and richer level design. MeriStation says the game may entertain younger children, while experienced platformer players may find it underwhelming. The review’s account of low challenge suggests it is not aimed at players seeking demanding platforming. That does not establish an age rating or suitability for every child; parents should check the rating and content information for their region and platform.
