In Notebookcheck’s Wi-Fi browsing comparison, the Galaxy A56 5G lasted 24.5 hours, versus 14.9 hours for the Galaxy A57—about 64% longer when calculated relative to the A57. That result supports a workload-specific comparison, not a claim that the A56’s battery is 63% better in every kind of use.
Which phone is behind the “63% better” battery claim?
The evidence points to the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G as a plausible alternative, but it does not establish the origin of the exact 63% headline figure. Notebookcheck reports 24.5 hours of Wi-Fi browsing for the A56 and 14.9 hours for the A57. Using the A57 as the baseline, the A56’s measured runtime is about 64% longer: (24.5 − 14.9) ÷ 14.9.
The difference between 63% and approximately 64% may reflect rounding or another calculation, but the available results do not identify a test that produces exactly 63%. The meaningful takeaway is the named comparison and workload, not a universal battery-life rating.
How does the Galaxy A57 perform in different tests?
Notebookcheck lists these results for the Galaxy A57, which it specifies has a 5,000 mAh battery. Each figure represents a distinct test condition, not a prediction of how long every owner’s phone will last.

These results cannot be compared as though they measure the same activity. Video playback, browsing, and demanding use place different demands on a phone, so the most useful figure is the one that resembles your own routine.
Why battery-test rankings can change by activity
Notebookcheck’s A56-versus-A57 figure is specifically a Wi-Fi browsing comparison. A separate GSMArena comparison shows how rankings may change across activities: the A57 is ahead of the Galaxy S25 FE in web browsing and video streaming, while the S25 FE lasts longer in 4G calls. A phone that leads one test does not necessarily lead another.

GSMArena also lists a 5,000 mAh battery for the A57 and reports 64% charge after 30 minutes. Battery capacity and a charging snapshot add context, but neither establishes how long a phone will run in a particular person’s daily use.

- Match the test to your routine. Wi-Fi browsing is most relevant if that resembles your screen-on use; it does not stand in for calls, video, or sustained high-load activity.
- Compare like with like. Put results from the same workload alongside each other. Avoid treating figures from different test methods as a direct head-to-head result.
- Use runtime, not capacity alone. A 5,000 mAh specification does not by itself establish which phone will last longer.
- Keep the claim narrow. The A56 result supports longer runtime than the A57 in Notebookcheck’s Wi-Fi browsing comparison; it does not establish a 63% advantage in everyday battery life overall.
The available figures do not settle which phone is best for every buyer. Your preferred activities and other purchase priorities matter alongside any one lab result.
