What the Takashiro Treasure Hunt is
Takashiro is a named region used by a rotating Festival Playlist Treasure Hunt in Forza Horizon 6 (FH6). It is not a permanent map collectible and it is not another name for the Weekly Challenge. The Takashiro entry asks you to solve a clue, reveal a search area and break a treasure chest.

The Series 3 Spring report lists the item as “Treasure Hunt: Follow the Photo Clue to Discover the Treasure! – Takashiro Region”. The same playlist lists the Forzathon Weekly Challenge “Racing Spirit” separately. That separation is the key to understanding what you should do when both rows are visible.

A region name does not identify one permanent chest coordinate. The active clue, search circle and chest belong to a particular playlist week. When that week ends, the entry is replaced, and the old chest is no longer the active Treasure Hunt target.
How a weekly Treasure Hunt works
The hunt follows a short, repeatable loop rather than a long event series:
- Read the playlist clue. Open the current Treasure Hunt entry and examine its riddle or photo. For Takashiro, the reproduced in-game wording is “Follow the Photo Clue to Discover the Treasure!”
- Infer what the clue requires. The answer can point to a car, a place, a driving activity or another condition. The clue is the instruction; Takashiro is the region in which the resulting search takes place.
- Perform the indicated action. Drive the appropriate car, visit the indicated place or complete the activity. A successful action reveals a search circle on the map.
- Enter the search circle. Drive into the marked area in the Takashiro region. The circle narrows the hunt from the clue’s broad answer to the chest’s local vicinity.
- Find and smash the chest. Look for the breakable treasure chest inside the circle and drive through it. The playlist entry should then register as complete and award the listed credits and points.
The archive describes one rotating chest per week. There is no permanent Takashiro chest that remains available independently of the playlist.

The photograph is not simply a hint about where to drive. It may communicate the vehicle, setting or activity that must be performed before the map circle appears. Start by listing the visible clues in the image: the likely car type, the terrain or landmark, and any obvious activity. Then test the most direct interpretation in free roam or the indicated event. Visiting Takashiro alone is not enough if the photo expects a vehicle or action first.
Watch for the game’s confirmation that the clue has been solved. The important state change is the appearance of the search circle. If no circle appears, return to the photo and reconsider the action rather than searching the whole region at random.
Takashiro hunt versus the Forzathon Weekly Challenge
Both items can appear in the same Festival Playlist, but they test different skills and use different completion systems.

In practical terms, a player can finish the Takashiro hunt without progressing the Weekly Challenge, and can finish Weekly Challenge steps without ever entering the Takashiro search circle. Completing one does not mark the other complete.
The difference is also useful when planning a short session. The Treasure Hunt is a focused navigation task: solve one clue, trigger one circle and locate one object. The Weekly Challenge is an activity checklist, so it may send you through several menus or event types before it is complete. If you are trying to earn the three Playlist points from Takashiro quickly, open the Treasure Hunt card rather than starting the Weekly Challenge’s first objective.

Where to look for the Takashiro chest
There is no responsible single coordinate to publish without a series, season and date. The chest is generated as part of the active playlist entry, and the entry changes at the weekly rollover. A location copied from a previous week can be obsolete even if the region name remains Takashiro.
Use this method when the Takashiro row is active:
- Check the Festival Playlist header for the current series, season and remaining time.
- Open the Takashiro Treasure Hunt card and read the photo clue exactly as displayed.
- Identify the car, location or activity represented by the image. If the clue requires a specific car or class, switch to that vehicle before attempting the action.
- Complete the clue’s action in free roam or the indicated event. Watch for the notification or map change that reveals the search circle.
- Set the map to the Takashiro region and drive through the circle. The chest is somewhere inside that marked area, not necessarily at the region label itself.
- Sweep the circle methodically at low speed, checking roads, ramps and nearby open ground, then drive through the chest when it becomes visible.
- Reopen the playlist card and verify that the Treasure Hunt is marked complete and that the credits and points have been added.
If a guide gives a chest position but does not identify the series, season and date, treat it as historical information rather than a guaranteed current location.
A preparation checklist
Before starting, note the playlist’s remaining time and make sure the game is displaying the current season. Read the clue from the card instead of relying on a cropped screenshot, because the wording identifies the required trigger. Have the likely vehicle available so you do not lose time changing cars after reaching the region. If the clue points to an activity, use the relevant event or free-roam action exactly as described. Finally, leave enough time to search the circle slowly and verify the completion card before the rollover.
Reward: 100,000 credits and 3 Playlist points
The FH6 Treasure Hunt archive reports a recurring reward of 100,000 CR plus 3 Festival Playlist points for hunts with a sourced reward figure. A separate Series 3 Spring report lists the Takashiro hunt at the same 3-point and 100,000-credit reward. These figures describe the cited playlist entry and should be checked against the live card after a rollover.
No XP amount is confirmed in the archive. Do not assume an XP number from another activity, an older game or an unrelated Weekly Challenge applies to Takashiro.
The credits are a one-time completion reward for that weekly chest. The 3 points count toward the Festival Playlist’s seasonal progress. If you miss the chest before the rollover, the old entry is replaced rather than held as a permanent map objective.
When the FH6 Treasure Hunt resets
The Festival Playlist rolls over every Thursday at 14:30 UTC. At that time, the current hunt is replaced by the next playlist entry, and the previous chest is no longer the active target.

- Finish the clue and chest before the rollover; an unfinished search does not remain the active hunt afterward.
- After the rollover, refresh the Festival Playlist and read the new clue rather than following last week’s instructions.
The official Series 6 update announcement places the Horizon Meets Festival Playlist start at 2:30 PM UTC on 8 October 2026, illustrating the same UTC-based scheduling used for playlist timing. A start date for one series does not change the regular Thursday rollover rule.

Rollover also explains why two players can report different answers while both appear correct. One may be describing the active chest before Thursday afternoon, while another is already looking at the replacement entry. Always attach a date and playlist season to a location, reward screenshot or walkthrough title.
Takashiro and the wider FH6 event system
The Weekly Challenge feels broader because its objectives can send you through several kinds of driving content. FH6’s progression overview lists road, dirt and cross-country races, Time Attack Circuits, Drag Meets, PR Stunts and Bonus Boards. A Weekly Challenge can draw on that wider event system and require several checks in sequence.
The Treasure Hunt is deliberately narrower: one interpretation of a clue, one trigger action, one search circle and one chest. It is closer to a navigation puzzle than to a championship or multi-event challenge. That difference explains why the two cards can sit next to each other in the playlist while requiring completely different routes to completion.

FH6 has two similarly named systems:
Weekly Treasure Hunts
- Appear as rotating Festival Playlist entries.
- Use a clue and a temporary search circle.
- End when the weekly playlist entry rolls over.
- Reward the cited hunts with 100,000 CR and 3 Festival Playlist points.
Treasure Cars
- Are permanent exploration collectibles rather than the weekly chest.
- Are associated with the Treasure Hunter achievement, which requires collecting nine Treasure Cars.
- Are discovered through the game’s broader exploration progression, including Stamp progression and Barn Find rumors described in FH6’s official starting guidance.
- Do not become the Takashiro chest when you drive into a weekly search circle.
Breaking the Takashiro chest therefore does not advance the nine-Treasure-Car achievement unless a separate, unrelated collectible condition is met.
Troubleshooting a Takashiro hunt
The search circle has not appeared
Return to the clue and check that you performed the requested action, not merely visited the named region. The region is the search destination; it is not necessarily the trigger. If the clue implies a car or activity, use the matching vehicle or complete the activity before expecting the circle.
The map still shows last week’s information
Check the playlist timer and current series/season. If the Thursday 14:30 UTC rollover has passed, reload the Festival Playlist and read the new card. A saved screenshot or old guide cannot reactivate an expired chest.
The chest is not visible inside the circle
Drive slowly around the entire marked area and inspect roads, access lanes and nearby terrain. The chest can be easy to miss at high speed. Stay inside the circle while searching; leaving it can make the hunt appear inactive even though the clue was solved.

The reward is not obvious
Check the completed playlist card and your credit total. The cited Treasure Hunt reward is 100,000 CR and 3 points; XP is not a confirmed part of the archive’s reward figure. Do not use the Weekly Challenge’s reward display as a substitute.

A guide’s location does not match your game
Compare its series, season and publication date with your playlist. Because the chest is replaced weekly, an otherwise accurate Takashiro walkthrough may describe an expired entry.
You completed the clue but opened the wrong playlist card
Return to the Festival Playlist and select the Takashiro Treasure Hunt row, not the Forzathon Weekly Challenge row. The two cards can be adjacent, and completing a Weekly Challenge objective will not confirm the chest hunt. Use the card’s completion state and the credited 3 points as the final check.
You are searching for a permanent collectible
If your goal is the Treasure Hunter achievement, leave the playlist screen and pursue the nine Treasure Cars through the game’s exploration progression. A weekly chest is temporary and cannot substitute for those collectibles.

Platform and equipment requirements
The official Series 6 update lists FH6 availability on Xbox Series X|S, the Xbox app for PC and Steam. You need the game on one of those supported platforms and an active Festival Playlist entry to attempt the hunt.
An Xbox-compatible controller or racing wheel can make driving activities more comfortable, but neither is required to solve a Treasure Hunt. The hunt’s essential inputs are the clue, the vehicle or activity it specifies, map navigation and the final chest smash.
Check the current edition and storefront listing for the platform you use. Hardware choice does not alter the clue, search-circle process or Thursday reset; it only changes how you control the car.

- You see “Takashiro Region” and a photo clue: start the Treasure Hunt loop and look for the search circle after completing the clue.
- You see “Racing Spirit” or another Forzathon Weekly Challenge title: open its objective list and complete each checklist item; do not search for a chest.
- You want the Treasure Hunter achievement: pursue the nine permanent Treasure Cars, not the weekly playlist chest.
- You are using an online location guide: verify its series, season and date before driving to the stated spot.
- You are close to Thursday 14:30 UTC: finish the active chest before rollover or wait for the next playlist clue.
