Short answer: Forza Horizon 6’s Treasure Hunt is a weekly Festival Playlist challenge where a photo clue points to a chest in a named region. The available sources do not confirm whether a found but unclaimed chest survives the Thursday reset, and they do not establish a guaranteed fix for a missing chest or reward. The latest dated example in the sources is Nangan: an October 1, 2026 guide reports a chest at Irokawa Space Center, but its status as the active post-reset location was not independently confirmed.
What is the Forza Horizon 6 Treasure Hunt?
It is a weekly Festival Playlist challenge: use the photo clue to locate a chest in the named region, then reach and collect it. The specialist reference describes the recurring prompt as “Follow the Photo Clue to Discover the Treasure!” and says the photograph is the puzzle, rather than a changing text riddle. The reference is secondary, so check the in-game challenge screen for the current wording.
This weekly activity is separate from the other systems that use “treasure” in their name:
- Treasure Cars: the specialist reference lists nine cars parked in the game world.
- Barn Finds: the specialist reference lists fifteen restoration collectibles.
- Treasure Map: a paid add-on for collectible locations. The official Xbox Store listing explicitly says it does not reveal seasonal collectibles featured in the Festival Playlist, so it is not a way to reveal the weekly chest. See the Treasure Map listing.
Where is the Treasure Hunt this week?
Weekly locations change, so a guide must match the active Playlist week. The latest dated location report in the available sources is for Nangan, published by PC Gamer on October 1, 2026. It places the chest at Irokawa Space Center in far southern Nangan: go to the upper level and search the north corner, to the left of the large rocket and fuel tanks. Read the dated Nangan location guide.

That location should not be treated as independently confirmed for the active post-reset hunt. A community breakdown published the same day also names Nangan for Series 5 Spring, while the specialist tracker says the Playlist rolled over on October 1 at 14:30 UTC and that it had not confirmed the new location. The available sources do not resolve whether the Nangan reports refer to the active post-rollover event. See the October 1 community breakdown and check the specialist tracker for dated updates.
What does one Treasure Hunt reward?
For the Nangan hunt, PC Gamer’s October 1, 2026 guide reports 100,000 credits, 5,000 XP, and three Season Progress points. The same day’s community breakdown lists three Playlist points and 100,000 credits. These figures describe that reported hunt, not a guaranteed reward package for every week. The specialist reference reports a pattern of 100,000 CR and three Playlist points for hunts where it has reward figures, but does not establish that 5,000 XP is universal.

Playlist points contribute toward seasonal milestones; they are not the same as a direct chest payout. Seasonal rewards such as cars depend on accumulated points from Playlist activities, so the chest’s currency reward and its progress contribution serve different purposes.
Does the chest respawn or stay after Thursday’s reset?
That behavior is not established by the sources reviewed. The specialist tracker says it found no official statement or substantiated player report confirming whether a discovered but unclaimed chest persists through the Thursday rollover, respawns, or disappears. Treat the chest’s post-reset state as unknown rather than relying on claims that it definitely resets or remains available.

What should I do if the chest is missing or the reward does not register?
No verified official recovery procedure for a missing chest or an unregistered reward was found in the available sources. First make sure the guide you are following names the same Playlist week and region shown in your game; dated location pages can refer to a different week or a time before a rollover. Then confirm that you are following the photo clue for the weekly challenge, rather than looking for a Treasure Car or Barn Find. If the problem remains, consult the current in-game challenge information and official Forza channels; do not assume that restarting or another player’s workaround is a guaranteed fix.

The specialist tracker says its reference covers one chest a week and ten documented regions across three series, with its data labeled as last changed August 6, 2026. Those are the site’s own coverage figures, not official game statistics. Older location guides can help explain a clue or route, but they cannot establish the current week’s location without matching the active Playlist.
