Fortnite quests are tasks listed in the in-game Quests tab. Epic Games Support identifies Daily, Weekly, and Seasonal quests as key XP sources, but labels and available tasks can vary by season and Fortnite experience. “Story quests” are not established as a permanent, universal category, and “Global Daily Bonus Goals” are a specific Quest Pack mechanic—not a general name for every bonus objective.
Fortnite quest types at a glance
| Quest label | What it means | Timing or availability | Reward or progress |
|---|---|---|---|
| Daily | Tasks Epic lists as an XP source. | Reset each day. For Battle Royale, check the live reset time in the Daily tile in the Quests tab. | XP; check the in-game list for current tasks. |
| Weekly | Tasks Epic lists as an XP source. | Refresh every Tuesday, according to Epic Games Support. | XP; check the in-game list for current tasks. |
| Seasonal | Season-dependent tasks and another XP source. | Availability and tasks depend on the season; no universal schedule is stated in Epic’s support guidance. | XP. |
| Kickstart | Simple early-season tasks that Epic says offer XP. | Appears at the start of a season when available. | XP. |
| Story | A label players may see for narrative objectives, but current support guidance does not define it as a standing category across Fortnite. | Check the specific season, mode, or official announcement associated with the task. | Depends on the specific task; no universal reward is established. |
| Global Daily Bonus Goals | Objectives tied to qualifying Quest Packs. | Only three goals per day count toward pack progress; they can be completed in any Fortnite experience. | Can contribute toward the V-Bucks included in the pack. |
Epic’s XP guidance names Daily, Weekly, and Seasonal quests, and separately describes Kickstart quests. The labels and rules shown in your Quests tab are the best guide to what is available in your current experience.
When do Daily and Weekly Quests reset?
Daily Quests
Daily Quests reset each day. Epic does not give one universal clock time for every player in its reset guidance; for Battle Royale, it directs players to the Daily tile in the Quests tab for the live reset time. See Epic’s Battle Royale Daily Quest reset guidance.
Weekly Quests
Epic Games Support says Weekly Quests refresh every Tuesday. For the tasks currently available to you, use the in-game Quests list rather than relying on an older season’s task list.

What are Story Quests in Fortnite?
“Story quests” should be understood in the context of the particular season or experience where the label appears. Epic’s current general support pages do not define Story quests as a fixed category that applies to every season or mode. If a quest advances a narrative, use its in-game description or the official announcement for that season to understand its role; do not assume older storylines or labels still apply.
For example, Epic’s Chapter 3 Season 1 article described a narrative quest line called “The Device.” That is historical context for that season, not evidence of a permanent current quest type: Fortnite: What’s New in Chapter 3 Season 1.
How Global Daily Bonus Goals work
Global Daily Bonus Goals are tied to qualifying Quest Packs. Epic says that only three of these goals per day count toward the pack’s progress; completing additional Daily Quests does not add progress to this requirement. The goals can be completed in any Fortnite experience. Select the pack in the Quests list to review its stages and progress. Epic explains the mechanic in its Quest Pack V-Bucks support article.

Where to find quests and track progress
- Launch the Fortnite experience you want to play.
- From the lobby, open the Quests tab and look through the sections for that experience. Epic says the tab can also be opened during a match.
- Choose an available task and follow its in-game objective description.
- Return to the Quests list to check your progress. For a Quest Pack, select the pack to view its stages and qualifying progress.
Epic’s quest instructions emphasize that quests differ between experiences. Its examples include Rocket Racing, LEGO Fortnite Odyssey, LEGO Fortnite Brick Life, and Fortnite Festival. A quest shown in one experience may not be available in another.
How quests fit into XP and progression
Epic says XP earned by playing any Fortnite experience advances all active passes simultaneously. In addition to quests, its support guidance lists match play and eligible Creative maps as XP sources. It also describes temporary or additional XP sources such as Supercharged XP, periodic double-XP events, and Victory Crown XP. Availability and amounts can change, so check the current game rather than assuming a fixed XP value for a quest type.
