Buying V-Bucks makes sense when you want a specific amount of currency; Fortnite Crew can be better value if you also want its monthly Crew Pack and premium access to the included passes. Compare the Crew price shown for your platform and region with what you would actually spend on V-Bucks, and count only benefits you plan to use.
What you get with each option

| Buy V-Bucks | A chosen currency pack for a one-time purchase. Epic’s US examples, listed in its March 10, 2026 announcement, are $8.99 for 800 V-Bucks, $22.99 for 2,400, $36.99 for 4,500, and $89.99 for 12,500. Regional prices may differ. Epic announced on March 10, 2026, that the changes would start March 19, 2026. The Battle Pass price became 800 V-Bucks, and completing it awards 800 V-Bucks; Crew’s monthly currency grant changed from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks. Epic’s announcement

How to decide which is better value for you
- Start with what you want to buy. If you only need currency for a particular item or pass, compare the cost of the relevant V-Bucks pack with the local Crew subscription price.
- Check whether Crew’s extras matter to you. Include the Crew Pack and premium rewards from included passes in your decision only if you want them. A cosmetic or pass you would not otherwise use is not a saving.
- Check your local subscription charge. Epic’s current Crew information describes the benefits, but does not establish one dollar price that applies everywhere. Use the amount displayed for your platform and region rather than assuming a price from another market.
- Account for ongoing billing. Crew renews monthly until canceled. If you only want one month’s benefits, consider when to cancel and check the subscription terms for your platform. Epic’s Crew subscription terms
How the Battle Pass affects the comparison
Since March 19, 2026, the Battle Pass costs 800 V-Bucks and awards 800 V-Bucks when completed, according to Epic. That completion award can cover a subsequent 800-V-Bucks Battle Pass if you finish the pass and keep the currency. It is separate from Crew’s monthly 800-V-Bucks grant; do not count the Battle Pass award as part of Crew’s monthly currency. Epic’s pricing announcement
Crew includes premium access to the Battle Pass and other listed passes while the subscription is active. That is access, not a general cash-equivalent credit or an assurance that Epic will reimburse a pass purchase you already made. Epic’s cited Crew information establishes active premium access, not a universal reimbursement rule. Epic’s Crew information
