At FireShot’s currently listed prices, the $99.95 lifetime license reaches simple price parity after about 2.5 years of paying $39.95 per year. It may suit you if you expect to use Pro longer than that and regularly need its paid capture or editing features. If your use is occasional, the free Lite version may be enough. Check the current checkout price and license terms before buying: the published device allowance is worded differently in FireShot’s current FAQ and its 2024 license agreement.
FireShot Pro prices and the break-even point
FireShot’s official pricing page lists Pro at $39.95 per year or $99.95 once for a lifetime license. These are the vendor’s listed prices; confirm the amount at checkout because prices and promotions can change.
| Option | Listed price | What the price means |
|---|---|---|
| Yearly | $39.95 per year | Recurring yearly payment at the listed rate. |
| Lifetime | $99.95 once | One-time price at the listed rate. |
The simple break-even calculation is $99.95 ÷ $39.95, or about 2.5 years. This assumes both prices remain unchanged and excludes taxes, promotions, price changes, and differences in buyer eligibility. It compares the listed fees, not the value of features you may or may not use.
What the lifetime license is advertised to include
FireShot’s current pricing page says the lifetime license includes all Pro features, future updates, and use on two devices. Its FAQ says the license is for personal use and that you can use multiple browsers or profiles across those devices. The same FAQ says additional devices or users require another license.

Check the device terms before relying on them
A FireShot-hosted license agreement dated 19 January 2024 describes an allowance of up to two desktops and two laptops and says the license key may be used only by its owner. That wording differs from the current pricing FAQ’s two-device description. The reviewed materials do not establish which text governs a current purchase. Check the terms presented at checkout or ask FireShot support before buying if the device limit matters to you.
When paying for Pro makes sense
The decision is not only whether you will keep the license beyond the break-even point. It also depends on whether Pro features solve a recurring need. FireShot lists advanced PDF export, editing and annotations on Windows, capture history, batch or automated captures, and support among Pro features. Its comparison page positions Pro for extended editing, saving and loading, and advanced capture needs.

- Consider yearly billing if you are unsure how long you will need Pro, want to try its paid workflow first, or expect your needs to change before the lifetime fee reaches parity.
- Consider lifetime if you expect to use Pro beyond roughly 2.5 years at the listed prices, will use the paid features regularly, and have confirmed the current license terms work for your devices and users.
- Stay with Lite if your screenshots are occasional and the free version already covers what you do. FireShot’s own comparison positions Lite as suitable for basic use and Pro for more extensive editing, saving/loading, or advanced capture techniques; this is the vendor’s product positioning, not an independent feature test.
Platform and privacy considerations
FireShot’s pricing page specifically notes that its editor and smart annotation features are available on Windows. If those tools are central to your decision, confirm that the exact feature you need works in your browser and operating system before purchasing.
FireShot says screenshot processing is local, that the product works offline, and that it has no cloud dependency. Those are vendor statements; they are not an independent security audit. Consider whether that stated workflow fits your privacy requirements rather than treating it as an independently verified security assessment.

ScreenshotNeo: an alternative for API-based capture
FireShot is a browser screenshot tool; ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers, so it is an alternative for a different workflow rather than a like-for-like browser extension. Its one-GET-request API returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. It removes supported consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, with response headers indicating the page verdict and billing status. AI agents can use its MCP server tools, including take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf.
ScreenshotNeo’s listed plans are Free: 1,000 shots per month with no card; Starter: $5 for 3,000; Growth: $15 for 15,000; Pro: $39 for 60,000; Scale: $99 for 250,000; and Business: $249 for 1,000,000. Yearly billing gives two months free, and every feature is on every plan. See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for API details. Sign up for 1,000 free screenshots a month with no card.
