When does FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION come out?
Square Enix set the release date for April 8, 2027. The publisher identifies REVELATION as the third and final installment of the FINAL FANTASY VII Remake Series. The date and platforms are also listed in Square Enix’s Japanese announcement; the North American announcement has the detailed edition information below.

Square Enix says Amazon Day 1 editions include a folded poster, subject to availability. That announcement does not confirm current stock or a live retailer listing. The Collector’s edition is listed as a Square Enix Store exclusive in the North American announcement.
The Japanese announcement lists package and download versions at ¥9,900, with additional Japan-specific editions and prices. Those regional prices should not be treated as US pricing; consult Square Enix’s Japanese announcement for the local details.

What does Square Enix say about the game?
In its North American release announcement, Square Enix describes an open planet to explore aboard the Highwind, with Piko the Chocobo and new traversal and combat abilities. It also says Cid and Vincent will be playable and describes a hybrid combat system, a new FITS ability system, character and party switching, and a grappling gun. The publisher says quests can let players’ party choices affect events; these are announced features, not independent hands-on findings.
The same announcement says two story DLCs are planned for release between Winter 2027 and Spring 2028. Square Enix notes that they may be sold separately after release and that plans and dates can change.

Is REVELATION a 40th-anniversary game?
Not according to the announcement’s framing. The first FINAL FANTASY game was released in 1987, making 2027 the franchise’s 40th-anniversary year. Separately, Square Enix describes REVELATION as arriving in the original FINAL FANTASY VII’s 30th-anniversary year. It is the final entry in the Remake Series, but the company has not presented it as a 40th-anniversary edition.
The franchise’s anniversary activities are separate events. The official portal lists an exhibition and a Distant Worlds orchestral concert. Square Enix identifies the exhibition venue as the Tokyo National Museum and gives its dates as January 8 through April 4, 2027.
