To loop a Telugu video playlist into YouTube Live with FFmpeg, match YouTube’s ingest settings: use H.264 video with constant bitrate (CBR), AAC audio, and a two-second keyframe interval; choose a sustainable bitrate for your resolution and frame rate; then send the feed to the event’s RTMPS URL and stream key. FFmpeg’s -stream_loop -1 repeats one input file indefinitely, but a multi-file playlist needs a separate concat workflow and compatibility checks. A 24/7 broadcast also needs a host, monitoring, and a recovery plan.
Choose YouTube Live settings for the source
YouTube’s encoder guidance supports RTMP or RTMPS ingestion, H.264, H.265 (HEVC), or AV1 video up to 60 fps, AAC or MP3 audio, and CBR bitrate encoding. For a broadly compatible FFmpeg setup, use H.264 video and AAC audio. YouTube recommends a two-second keyframe frequency and says not to exceed four seconds. Prefer RTMPS when your encoder supports it; it encrypts RTMP delivery. YouTube’s encoder settings and RTMPS instructions provide the current guidance.
Bitrate examples from YouTube
These are YouTube’s current H.264 ingest bitrate settings, accessed in 2026. They are recommendations, not a measurement of your connection or a guarantee of picture quality.

Use the bitrate appropriate to the output resolution and frame rate, and confirm your sustained upload capacity can support it with headroom. Do not select the highest setting by default: an unstable upload can cause dropped frames or interruptions. YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the planned stream, then monitoring stream health and messages.

Prepare Telugu video files and playlist transitions
Loop one file indefinitely
FFmpeg documents -stream_loop -1 as an input option that repeats an input indefinitely. Place it before the relevant -i option:

Confirm the RTMPS URL format supplied for your event and insert the secret stream key only in your local command or protected configuration.

FFmpeg options generally apply to the next input or output, so ordering matters. In particular, -stream_loop -1 must precede the input it repeats. Consult the FFmpeg command-line documentation for option behavior.
Build a playlist from multiple files
-stream_loop -1 repeats one input; it does not turn a collection of files into a playlist. One FFmpeg approach is the concat demuxer. Create a text file such as playlist.txt:

Stream copying is reliable only when the files’ stream properties are compatible; differences in codecs, dimensions, frame rates, timestamps, or audio layout can create failures or poor transitions. If properties differ, normalize or re-encode to a common output and inspect the audio and video at each boundary. See FFmpeg’s formats documentation for concat demuxer details.
Create the YouTube event and connect FFmpeg
- Create or schedule the live event. In YouTube Live Control Room, create or schedule a stream using an encoder. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup instructions and check the event’s current settings and account status.
- Copy the ingest URL and stream key. YouTube describes the stream URL and key as the address and password that let an encoder send a feed and let YouTube accept it. Keep the key private. Prefer the secure RTMPS URL when available; see YouTube’s RTMPS instructions.
- Insert the event details into the FFmpeg output. Replace
RTMPS_URL/STREAM_KEYin the example with the URL and key provided for your event, following the URL/key format shown in Control Room. Avoid sharing logs or command history that expose the key. - Test before relying on the broadcast. Start FFmpeg with representative Telugu material that includes both audio and motion. Check that YouTube receives the stream, review stream-health notices, and confirm the playlist moves cleanly between files. YouTube Help says, “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.”
Run FFmpeg continuously and plan for interruptions
A 24/7 FFmpeg process must run on a computer or server that stays powered on and connected, with enough stable upload capacity for the chosen bitrate. Protect the stream key, monitor the process and YouTube stream health, and decide how an operator or supervisor will detect and restart a failed publishing session.

FFmpeg’s network input reconnection options address network errors for inputs; they are not a complete supervisor for a YouTube publishing session and do not establish that YouTube will automatically accept a restarted feed in every interruption scenario. The YouTube encoder guidance cited here does not establish that every account is eligible for a continuous prerecorded broadcast, nor does it settle whether a particular Telugu playlist complies with YouTube policies. YouTube’s encoder setup page says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish normal archive behavior for an uninterrupted 24/7 stream, so do not rely on it as an archive guarantee. Plan separate recording or archiving only if your workflow and rights allow it.
Troubleshoot common FFmpeg YouTube Live problems
- YouTube does not receive the stream: Check the event is ready in Live Control Room, the RTMPS URL and key are copied correctly, and the key belongs to that event. Keep the key secret while diagnosing.
- Unstable stream health or dropped frames: Verify sustained upload capacity and lower the output bitrate or resolution if the connection cannot support it. Re-test while watching YouTube’s stream-health notices.
- FFmpeg errors at a file boundary: Check concat-list paths and file compatibility. Normalize or re-encode mismatched inputs, then inspect the transition rather than assuming stream copy will work.
- Audio or video does not match expectations: Confirm the output codec, sample rate, frame rate, dimensions, and bitrate are appropriate for the files and YouTube ingest target. Test with both motion and sound before leaving the process unattended.
- The broadcast stops after an interruption: Do not assume an input reconnection flag restarts the YouTube publishing session. Check the FFmpeg process, YouTube status, and recovery plan, and restart or reconfigure as needed.
