Yes. Peacock has ordered a scripted live-action Fast & Furious series, with a premiere in 2028 reported as the target. Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman are attached as co-showrunners and pilot writers; Vin Diesel is an executive producer. No cast, plot, exact premiere date, or on-screen role for Diesel has been announced in the reporting available as of October 2, 2026.
What has Peacock confirmed?
Peacock announced the project as being in development on May 11, 2026. On October 2, Variety reported that the scripted series had moved to an order and that Peacock was aiming for a 2028 premiere. That year is a reported target, not a confirmed release date.

The series is associated with Peacock and Universal Television. Peacock’s May announcement identified Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman as co-showrunners and pilot writers, and named Vin Diesel, Sam Vincent, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Chris Morgan as executive producers. Variety’s October report also listed the creative team.
When will the series come out?
There is no exact premiere date. Variety reported October 2, 2026, that Peacock was looking toward a 2028 premiere; the report does not establish a season, month, or day. Treat 2028 as the current target rather than a scheduled launch.

Who is in the cast, and what is the story?
No cast or confirmed plot had been announced in the reporting reviewed by October 2, 2026. The series’ title is also unannounced. Its place in the films’ continuity has not been established: available announcements do not say whether it will be a prequel, sequel, or another kind of spin-off, or whether movie characters will return.
Will Vin Diesel appear in the show?
Diesel is credited as an executive producer, but that credit does not confirm that he will act in the series. Peacock’s May announcement quoted him describing the creative rationale: “For the last decade, we have realized that the fans have wanted more,” and “They wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories.” He also said the project felt right when Donna Langley began overseeing it, because he believed the characters’ integrity and the franchise’s international appeal and family themes would be protected in television. Those remarks explain his stated support for the project; they do not confirm the show’s eventual plot or cast.
Is this the first Fast & Furious TV series?
It is the announced live-action series, but not the franchise’s first television series. The animated Fast & Furious: Spy Racers ran for six seasons from 2019 to 2021, according to Popverse’s May 12, 2026 report.

At the May presentation, Diesel said, “The news that I have here today is that Peacock is launching four shows from the ‘Fast and Furious’ universe.” That statement should not be read as confirmation that Peacock ordered four series. The project described as in development in May, and the scripted series Variety reported as ordered in October, are the one live-action project covered by the announcements cited here; the available reporting does not establish orders for three additional shows.
