Choose based on your platform first: F1 25 is for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC; F1 24 also runs on PS4 and Xbox One. On a newer console or PC, F1 25 is the newer-season game and adds a third Braking Point chapter and a more team-management-focused My Team mode. F1 24 remains relevant if you play on an older console, already own it, or find it at a better current price.

EA’s F1 25 platform and release announcement and F1 24 announcement establish the platform and date details. The feature descriptions are publisher claims, not independent evaluations of which game plays better.
Can you play F1 25 on PS4 or Xbox One?
No. EA lists F1 25 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, not PS4 or Xbox One. EA lists F1 24 for both generations of PlayStation and Xbox, as well as PC. If your only gaming system is a PS4 or Xbox One, F1 24 is the compatible choice of these two.
What changes in the story and career modes?
F1 25: another Braking Point story and revised My Team
F1 25 brings back Braking Point for its third instalment. EA says the story spans two seasons, includes different driver perspectives, and has alternate endings. Its My Team 2.0 revision puts you in the team-owner role: you manage operations and both drivers, and can switch between them during race weekends. EA also says Konnersport is available in My Team and that you can add an 11th team in Driver Career. These details are in EA’s F1 25 launch announcement.

F1 24: choose a real 2024 driver in Career
EA says F1 24 introduced an overhauled Career mode that, for the first time in the series, let players compete as one of the 20 drivers from the 2024 F1 season. The announcement also highlights its Dynamic Handling system. Those are launch features, not proof that F1 24’s handling is objectively better or worse than F1 25’s. Is F1 25 worth upgrading from F1 24?
It depends on what you want from the upgrade. F1 25 has the stronger documented case if you want its newer-season release, the next Braking Point chapter, or a My Team setup centered more explicitly on running a team and managing two drivers. If F1 24’s Career option to take the role of a real 2024 driver is the feature you value, that may matter more to you than F1 25’s additions.

There is no independently tested winner for handling, graphics, AI, or performance established by the official information cited here. Feature announcements cannot settle whether you will prefer one game’s driving feel. If handling is the deciding factor, seek out comparative gameplay or reviews based on play on your own platform rather than treating a feature list as a verdict.
Does the 2026 Season Pack mean F1 25 is the latest-season option?
“Newer game” and “latest season content” are separate considerations. EA says its F1 25: 2026 Season Pack is available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, adds 2026 season material—including new rules, cars, teams, and MADRING—and requires F1 25. It is an add-on, not the same thing as the original F1 25 release. Check EA’s 2026 Season Pack announcement and the relevant store listing for what is currently included and available.

How should you decide what to buy?
- PS4 or Xbox One: Choose F1 24, because F1 25 is not listed for those consoles.
- PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC and no game owned: F1 25 is the newer release, with the documented story and My Team additions. Check your platform store for the current price and exact edition.
- You already own F1 24: Upgrade if F1 25’s specific modes or season content matter enough to justify the current cost; otherwise, your existing game may meet your needs.
- You want 2026 season content: Confirm the F1 25 base-game requirement and the add-on’s current listing before buying.
- You are deciding mainly on price: Compare the live price for the correct platform and edition. Current discounts, stock, and physical-copy availability are not established here, so no general price advantage can be assumed.
