These were announcements and planned rollouts—not confirmation that every feature is available on every device.
Google’s event was an Android ecosystem preview ahead of Google I/O the following week. Its official collection linked 11 announcement articles. The central theme was Gemini’s expanding role across devices, but the announcements also covered practical platform updates and features planned for later in 2026.
What is Gemini Intelligence on Android?
Google described Android as evolving into an “intelligence system,” with Gemini able to use context and take on more multi-step tasks. The announced capabilities included automating tasks, using visual context, helping with forms, cleaning up dictated messages, and creating custom widgets.
Google said rollout would begin with the latest Pixel and Galaxy phones in summer 2026, then extend to watches, cars, glasses, and laptops later in the year. That is the company’s announced schedule, not a guarantee of availability for every model or region; check Google’s current device and rollout details before relying on a particular feature.

It also announced auto browse, which can handle errands on a user’s behalf. Google said auto browse would ask for confirmation before sensitive actions such as making a purchase or posting on social media.
The initial rollout terms Google gave on May 12 were specific: selected devices running Android 12 or later, with at least 4 GB of RAM and the device language set to English (US), in the United States. Auto browse was tied to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscriptions. Those conditions describe the announced initial availability, not universal access.

What did Google announce about Android security?
Security updates were part of the event’s announcement collection. Google’s Android security post cited an estimate of $980 million in annual worldwide losses from social engineering scams and financial fraud. That figure is an estimate about those losses, not an Android-specific loss total; its methodology should be consulted before using it as a standalone statistic.
