If it is not listed, is turned off, or is marked corrupted, use Chrome’s Manage extensions page to enable, repair, or reinstall it.
The title does not identify which Web Clipper you mean; these steps cover Evernote Web Clipper, the extension documented by Evernote for Chrome.
1. Look for Web Clipper in Chrome’s Extensions menu
- In desktop Chrome, select the puzzle-piece Extensions icon beside the address bar. If the icon is not visible, open Chrome’s menu and choose Extensions.
- Look for Evernote Web Clipper in the menu. If it appears, open its menu or use the pin control to pin it to the toolbar.
- If there is no pin option, Chrome notes that some extensions do not offer one. The extension may still be available from the Extensions menu.

2. Check whether Chrome has disabled or marked it corrupted
- Open Chrome’s menu and select Extensions > Manage extensions. You can also enter
chrome://extensionsin the address bar. - Find Evernote Web Clipper. If its switch is off, turn it on, then check the Extensions menu again.
- If Chrome identifies the extension as corrupted, select Repair and confirm. Google documents this repair path for corrupted extensions.
If the extension appears enabled but its icon is still missing, return to the Extensions menu and pin it. The manager shows whether the problem is extension status; pinning addresses toolbar visibility. [Google: install and manage extensions]

3. Reinstall it if it is absent
Use the official Chrome Web Store listing for Evernote Web Clipper, published by Evernote Corporation. Select Add to Chrome, review the permissions requested, and accept only if you are comfortable with them. After installation, open the Extensions menu and pin the icon if desired. 4. Check profile, device, and browser restrictions
- Incognito or Guest: Google says extensions cannot be installed in Incognito or Guest mode. Try a regular desktop Chrome profile instead.
- Work or school device: An administrator may block extension installation. If Chrome reports that installation is blocked or controlled by your organization, ask the administrator whether Evernote Web Clipper is allowed.
- Phone or tablet: These instructions are for desktop Chrome. Google’s extension installation guidance is for desktop Chrome, so do not assume the desktop toolbar workflow applies to mobile Chrome.
- Out-of-date Chrome: If installation fails, update Chrome and retry; Google recommends checking that Chrome is current.

5. If the icon returns but clipping still fails
A visible toolbar icon does not guarantee that saving a page will work. Evernote’s troubleshooting guidance covers clipping problems, including browser and account checks; follow that route for failures after opening Web Clipper rather than for an icon that is still missing.
