Focus Entertainment announced a February 2, 2027 release for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The publisher announced a price of $29.99 in the United States and €29.99 in Europe. Steam’s full-game listing also shows a $29.99 US preorder price and the same release date. Regional prices and preorder terms can change, so check the relevant storefront before buying. The publisher says preorders include Vanguard Armor DLC, a cosmetic skin for Victus. The announcement does not describe it as a gameplay advantage.
How to try the free demo
The opening demo is available for free on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series, according to the publisher’s October 1, 2026 announcement. Steam describes its demo as a 45-to-60-minute prologue, though actual time will depend on play style. It sends Victus to retrieve Elta from a temple on Lerna, a glacial world, where players fight corrupted enemies using martial arts and magic and face Kan Loa’s Chosen. Steam’s demo listing describes the prologue and its limitations.

What kind of game is Elta?
Afterburner Studios describes Elta: Defy All Gods as an action-platformer mixing free-form melee combat, martial arts, magic, platforming, and science-fiction exploration. You play as Victus, a warrior monk searching for the lost dragon-god Elta. The studio uses “brawlervania” as its own shorthand for combining brawler combat with nonlinear, search-action exploration; it is the developer’s label, not a promise of a standardized genre formula. The adventure spans three winding science-fiction worlds. Victus develops three martial-arts stances and skill trees alongside magic attacks and movement abilities, including a double jump, dash, wall run, and grapple. Elta’s abilities serve both combat and traversal, helping Victus reach places that were previously inaccessible.
Playtime estimate and PS5 features
Focus Entertainment estimates a 15-to-20-hour playthrough. Its August 25, 2026 community FAQ says completionists could take up to 25 hours. These are publisher estimates, not independently measured playtime; the Focus Together FAQ provides the completionist figure.
On PS5, game director Ian Cofino says DualSense haptics give punches and platforming a tactile feel. The developer’s statement describes a feature of the PS5 experience, not a requirement to buy a separate controller. Cofino’s PlayStation Blog interview discusses the haptics.

Steam demo requirements and language support
Steam’s demo listing supports 16 interface languages and specifies Windows 10/11 64-bit, 16 GB RAM, and an SSD. Its listed graphics examples and targets apply to the demo:
