Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →On August 1, 2018, EE Times editor-in-chief Dylan McGrath announced that a beta version of a redesigned EE Times website was open for reader review and comment. The announcement described changes to the site’s appearance, device-responsive layout, search and links to sister publications; it did not report measured results or establish what appeared in the eventual final release.
What EE Times said was changing
The announced redesign aimed to put the publication’s electronics coverage more prominently in view, using new colors, larger graphics and an updated layout. These were descriptions of the beta’s intended presentation, not independent findings about how readers used it.
Display across devices
EE Times said the site was designed to render on PCs, tablets and smartphones. The announcement did not include compatibility tests or measurements of the experience on any particular device.
Search and sister publications
The publisher said a new search engine would make legacy content easier and more precise to find, but provided no benchmark or comparison to substantiate a performance change. The design also linked to AspenCore sister publications, including EDN, EBN and Power Electronics.

Editorial continuity and reader feedback
McGrath framed the redesign as a change in presentation rather than a change in editorial purpose: “While the look, feel and features of the site are new, our commitment to quality editorial remains unchanged.” That is McGrath’s statement of the publication’s commitment, not an independently verified assessment of editorial quality.
He described the beta as a work in progress and invited readers to say what worked and what did not. Comments on the announcement included a question about adding a dark theme to reduce eye and battery strain, as well as concerns about text size, contrast, readability, information density, home-page scanning and scrolling. These are individual reactions posted on the page, not a representative survey of readers.

The August 1, 2018 announcement presented feature descriptions and invited feedback; it reported no named statistic, study, quantified performance result or measured user outcome. It therefore does not show whether search became more effective, the responsive design worked consistently, or the new layout improved engagement or usability.
Nor does the beta announcement document the eventual final launch date, which proposed features were retained, or what happened after the feedback period. It is a snapshot of what EE Times said was available for review at that time—not evidence of the final site or the redesign’s later results.
