No—not as native, preinstalled Google services. Huawei identifies the Mate 90 as a HarmonyOS 7 phone, and its support guidance says Mate 30-series and later models do not come preinstalled with Google Mobile Services (GMS) or Google apps because of Google authorization. Huawei’s statement covers later models generally rather than certifying the Mate 90 individually, so treat this as a well-supported inference, not a Mate 90-specific test result. Huawei suggests using web versions of Google apps, which is not the same as having Google Play or native GMS.
Does the Mate 90 have Google Play Store or native GMS?
Huawei’s Mate 90 product page identifies the phone as running HarmonyOS 7. In its Google services support guidance, Huawei says Mate 30-series and later devices do not come preinstalled with GMS or Google apps because of Google authorization. Since the Mate 90 is a later model, that guidance strongly indicates buyers should not expect Google Play Store or native GMS on it; Huawei does not present this as a Mate 90-specific certification test.
Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) is not a substitute for Google authorization. Huawei says Google app availability depends on Google’s authorization policy, not on whether HMS Core is installed. An app store workaround, browser shortcut, or third-party container likewise does not establish that a device has native GMS.
Can you use Google apps on the Mate 90?
Huawei suggests trying web versions of Google apps. A web version is accessed through a browser and is different from a native app installed with Google Play and backed by GMS. Huawei’s guidance does not guarantee that any particular app or feature will work on the Mate 90.

Do not assume that a workaround will provide the same behavior as a certified Android phone. The available information does not establish whether individual apps, notifications, payments, location features, or Google account flows work on this device. If you depend on a particular Google service, confirm that your required tasks work through a web version or an officially available HarmonyOS app before buying.
Where is the Mate 90 officially available?
The documented launch and software rollout are China-focused. Huawei’s product page and buying guide concern mainland China, and Huawei’s HarmonyOS 7 FAQ describes the current upgrade program as limited to mainland China. ITmedia Mobile reported on October 1, 2026 that Huawei had not announced a release outside China at that time. That is a statement about the announcement status then, not proof that an international release will never happen.

What should you check before buying?
- Google dependence: List the specific Google apps and functions you use, then verify whether acceptable web versions or HarmonyOS alternatives meet those needs.
- Regional version: Confirm which software build and sales region the seller is offering. The documented rollout and launch information here are mainland-China focused.
- Local usability: Check network-band compatibility, warranty coverage, return terms, and seller reliability for your country. These details are not established by Huawei’s China sales information.
- Accessories and packaging: Huawei lists a charger and transparent protective case among package contents, and names a Mate 90 case on its launch page. Verify the local box contents and exact model fit before purchasing accessories; a case for another Mate 90-series model may not fit.
