Google’s official Google Ads API is a separate product for working with Google Ads accounts. A third-party article reports that the Transparency Center website uses an undocumented internal RPC, but that report is not a Google-supported API specification or a promise that the endpoint will keep working.
What the Ads Transparency Center does
Google describes the Ads Transparency Center as a place to “Find active ads published through Google.” Its public interface lets people search by advertiser name or website and use context and filter controls to explore ads.
The interface is for viewing ads; its existence does not mean Google offers a documented programmatic search API for it. Google’s page also notes a specific display limitation: when a platform filter is selected, ads shown before September 4, 2023 will not appear in search results.
Google’s documented API is a different product
The Google Ads API is an official developer interface for programmatic interaction with Google Ads accounts. Google documents access through REST or gRPC and recommends its official client libraries where possible. Its API call-structure guide describes requirements such as an OAuth bearer token and a developer token.

Those requirements apply to the documented Google Ads API. They do not establish that the Transparency Center has a supported search endpoint, nor should the account-management API be treated as a substitute for a Transparency Center search API.
What the third-party RPC report says
A third-party article, “Reverse-engineering the Google Ads Transparency Center API”, reports that the Transparency Center site uses an internal RPC to search creatives. It gives an endpoint pattern beginning POST https://adstransparency.google.com/anji/_/rpc/SearchService/SearchCreatives?authuser= and describes an application/x-www-form-urlencoded request body containing URL-encoded f.req data with numeric protobuf-JSON fields.

The author also reports that requests can be made anonymously and provides an example fragment and field interpretations. These are observations attributed to that author, not an official Google schema. The report does not establish that every field is understood, that the endpoint is currently operational, or that Google supports its use. Its endpoint, request format, and field mappings could change without notice. This account is not an independent reproduction of the request.

What Google has said about a Transparency Center API
In a Google Ads API forum discussion dated July 15, 2024, a reader asked, “Is there any API endpoints available for Google ads transparency center?” A Google Ads API Forum Advisor replied: “I have checked and found that there is no corresponding API for this yet.” That is a dated response from the discussion, not confirmation of the service’s current API status.
Policy considerations for developers
Google’s Google Ads Developer Policies prohibit third-party hosted interfaces or proxy services that solely replicate, wrap, or re-expose Google Ads programmatic capabilities as an intermediate layer. The policy also distinguishes open-source tools that users download and connect with their own credentials. This boundary is relevant to software exposing Google Ads API functionality; the cited policy does not itself resolve the status of the Transparency Center’s reported internal RPC.

What to do if you need ad-search data
- For manual research: use the public Ads Transparency Center interface and its advertiser or website search.
- For Google Ads account operations: use the documented Google Ads API and follow Google’s current authentication, token, and policy requirements.
- For automated Transparency Center searches: do not treat the reported RPC as a supported integration. The third-party report is not a Google contract, schema, or compatibility commitment.
