Yes. The Arctis Nova Pro Wireless is compatible with GTA VI on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, because the game is announced for those consoles and the headset is documented as compatible with both console families. Xbox owners must use the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox model to use the headset’s dedicated Xbox connection. The headset does not need a GTA-specific license or audio mode; compatibility is determined at the console level.
Why the headset works with GTA VI
GTA VI is officially listed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar Games Support states that players can pre-order the game for those platforms. A PlayStation Blog announcement gives November 19, 2026 as the scheduled release date for the PS5 version, although release schedules can change and the current Rockstar listing should be checked for the latest status.
SteelSeries’ Arctis Nova Pro Wireless documentation lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S among the supported systems. That means the headset can handle the console audio connection GTA VI will use. The compatibility conclusion is not based on a GTA-specific certification, benchmark or preset; it follows from the game’s console platforms and the headset’s published system support.
Which Arctis Nova Pro Wireless model you need
The important distinction is the console edition of the headset, not a special GTA VI version. SteelSeries says every model has two direct USB system connections, but only the Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox has the dedicated Xbox port required for a direct Xbox console connection.

| PS5 compatibility | Supported | Supported |
| Xbox Series X direct connection | Not supported through the dedicated Xbox connection | Supported through the dedicated Xbox port |
| Two direct USB system connections | Yes | Yes |
| Second USB port use | For supported systems such as PC, PlayStation, Switch or Mac, according to the connection guidance | Flexible port for PC, PlayStation 4/5, Switch or Mac |
| One base station connected to both PS5 and Xbox Series X | Not the correct model for this arrangement | Yes: Xbox on the dedicated port and PS5 on the flexible port |
| Package label to look for | A package explicitly marked for PlayStation/PC | SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox |
If you own only a PS5, a package documented for PlayStation can meet the published compatibility requirement. If you own an Xbox Series X, or both consoles, select the package explicitly marked for Xbox. Do not assume that a listing described merely as “Nova Pro Wireless” includes the Xbox hardware.
How to connect the headset to a PS5
- Place the Nova Pro Wireless base station near the PS5 and connect the base station to the console with a USB cable.
- On the base station, select the PlayStation or PS5 input as applicable to the displayed device options.
- Open the PS5 audio settings and choose the Arctis headset as the console’s audio input and output device.
- Start GTA VI and adjust the game’s own volume or dialogue controls after confirming that the PS5 is sending sound to the headset.
The PS5 connection is a console audio connection, so the headset does not need to identify GTA VI by name. If the console recognizes the base station and the headset is selected for audio output, the game’s sound is routed through it like other PS5 software.

How to connect the headset to an Xbox Series X
- Confirm that the headset package is the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox model.
- Connect the base station’s dedicated Xbox USB port to the Xbox Series X.
- Turn on the console and headset, then use the base station’s device controls to select the Xbox connection if it is not selected automatically.
- In the Xbox audio settings, select the Arctis headset when the console presents available audio devices.
- Launch GTA VI and check the game audio after the console shows the headset as active.
The dedicated port is the hardware feature that distinguishes the Xbox model for direct Xbox console use. A PlayStation/PC-only package should not be treated as interchangeable with the Xbox package merely because the headsets share the Nova Pro Wireless name.

The Xbox model is the practical choice for a two-console setup. Keep the Xbox Series X connected to the dedicated Xbox port, then connect the PS5 to the base station’s flexible second USB port. SteelSeries’ Multi-System Connect guidance describes switching the active system from the base station’s OLED display and controls.

- Connect the Xbox Series X to the base station’s dedicated Xbox USB port.
- Connect the PS5 to the other USB port, which SteelSeries identifies as flexible for PlayStation and other supported systems.
- Power on the console you want to use.
- Open the base station’s device-selection controls and choose the corresponding active system.
- Verify that the selected console lists the headset for audio input and output before launching the game.
This arrangement avoids repeatedly moving the USB cable. It does not turn the headset into two simultaneous audio outputs; you select which connected system is active from the base station.
Supported systems beyond GTA VI consoles
The official product guide lists compatibility with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch in TV mode, Android devices using USB-C and Mac. Those entries describe the headset’s system support, not additional GTA VI versions. GTA VI’s platform listing remains PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

What you can and cannot infer about GTA VI audio
Published compatibility confirms that the headset can be used for the game on the supported consoles. It does not establish a particular frame of audio latency, surround-mix accuracy, equalizer setting, microphone performance or sound-quality advantage in GTA VI.
No reviewed official source publishes a GTA VI-specific audio preset, headset measurement or comparative test. Avoid treating a general Nova Pro Wireless feature as a tested GTA VI result. You can use the headset’s normal console controls and any in-game audio options that GTA VI provides, but a recommended EQ curve or surround profile would require separate, directly sourced testing.

Buying checklist
- Choose the exact product wording SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox if an Xbox Series X is part of your setup.
- Check that the retailer’s specifications explicitly identify the Xbox model rather than relying on a generic product title.
- For PS5-only use, confirm that the package lists PlayStation 5 compatibility and includes the base station and required USB connection.
- If you want both consoles connected at once, confirm that the package has the dedicated Xbox port and plan to use the second port for PS5.
- Do not pay extra for a supposed GTA VI compatibility feature; the official conclusion is ordinary console compatibility, not a game-specific certification.
Troubleshooting connection problems
The PS5 does not output sound to the headset
- Check that the base station is connected to the PS5 by USB and has power.
- Use the base station’s device selector to choose the PlayStation/PS5 input.
- In the PS5 audio settings, select the Arctis headset for output and input instead of the television or another device.
- Reconnect the USB cable and restart the console if the base station is not detected.
The Xbox Series X does not recognize the headset
- Verify that the package is the for Xbox model.
- Move the USB cable to the base station’s dedicated Xbox port; the flexible second port is not the dedicated Xbox connection.
- Check the base station’s active-device selection and then review the Xbox audio device setting.
- Power-cycle the base station and console if the connection remains absent.
Both consoles are connected but switching fails
- Leave the Xbox cable in the dedicated Xbox port and the PS5 cable in the flexible port.
- Use the base station’s OLED menu or device controls to select the console you want to hear.
- Confirm that only the selected console is being treated as the active system before starting GTA VI.
The game has sound but no voice chat
Recheck the active console’s input device as well as its output device. The headset must be selected for microphone input if you want party or in-game chat; selecting it only for output can leave voice capture assigned to another device.
Bottom line for PS5 and Xbox owners
On PS5, the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless is compatible with GTA VI when connected through its base station and selected as the console’s audio device. On Xbox Series X, use the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox and its dedicated Xbox USB port. If you own both consoles, the Xbox model can keep the Xbox on the dedicated port and the PS5 on the flexible second port, with switching handled from the base station. The available documentation confirms platform compatibility, but it does not make GTA VI-specific claims about latency, surround performance or EQ.
