Gears of War: E-Day advertises 4K Ultra HD, hardware ray-traced lighting, reflections and shadows, and ultrawide support for 21:9 and 32:9 displays on PC. Those are feature-support claims, not a guarantee that a particular PC can run the game at 4K with ray tracing at a specific frame rate.
Which PC display and graphics features are confirmed?
| Feature | What is advertised | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| 4K and HDR | The Steam listing advertises 4K Ultra HD and HDR10. | The PC version is listed as supporting 4K and HDR10; actual performance depends on your hardware and settings. |
| Ray tracing | Xbox Wire confirms hardware ray tracing. The Steam listing specifies ray-traced lighting, reflections and shadows. | Ray-traced effects are an announced PC feature. This does not establish the frame rate or image quality any specific PC will achieve. |
| Ultrawide | The Steam listing names 21:9 and 32:9 support for gameplay and menus. | Both common ultrawide aspect ratios are explicitly listed, including menu support. |
| Frame rates and display modes | The listing says frame rates are uncapped on capable hardware and names borderless, exclusive fullscreen and windowed modes. | Uncapped output does not mean a particular system will reach a particular frame rate. |

Does ray tracing mean you need a ray-tracing GPU?
The official PC announcement confirms hardware ray tracing, but that feature announcement alone does not identify the minimum graphics card required to play. Xbox Wire published final PC specifications on September 17, 2026, and noted that the spec image was updated September 28; the image’s contents are not available as readable article text here, so exact minimum and recommended GPU models should not be inferred from it.
PC Gamer separately reports that a ray-tracing-capable GPU is required and cites an RTX 5070 Ti or RX 7900 XT for 4K on the Ultra preset. Those are secondary-reported system requirement claims, not performance benchmarks; treat them as reported tiers rather than a verified guarantee for your resolution, settings or frame-rate target. See PC Gamer’s system-requirements report and Xbox Wire’s final PC specifications announcement.

What upscaling and performance technologies are listed?
In its July 14, 2026 PC announcement, Xbox Wire says the Unreal Engine 5 game is built on DirectX 12 and lists NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, including Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution, plus NVIDIA Reflex. The announcement also names AMD FSR, Unreal Engine TSR and Intel XeSS, as well as Advanced Shader Delivery on compatible hardware.
These options may affect how you balance image quality and performance, but the announcement does not provide comparable benchmarks or promise a specific result at 4K, with ray tracing, or on ultrawide displays. Check the settings available on your system and decide whether upscaling or frame generation suits your preference.

- SEE CONTENT SMOOTHER, EVEN GAMING: A faster than average refresh rate updates the image on screen more often every second; 100Hz refresh rate reduces lag and motion blur when playing games, watching videos, or working on design projects
- STAY IN SYNC WITH THE ACTION: AMD Radeon FreeSync keeps the refresh rate of your monitor and graphics card in sync to reduce image tearing for a superfluid entertainment experience; Watch movies and play games without interruptions
How to judge whether your PC is a fit
- Match your graphics card against the published PC requirements, especially the requirement relevant to ray tracing and your intended resolution.
- Set a target resolution and preset before comparing hardware. A 4K Ultra target is not equivalent to 21:9 or 32:9 at a given preset.
- Consider whether you want to use DLSS, FSR, TSR or XeSS, and whether frame generation is acceptable for your use.
- For ultrawide, compare your monitor’s aspect ratio and native resolution with the listed 21:9 or 32:9 support; the PC still needs enough rendering performance to drive that resolution.
The feature list does not establish one universally suitable graphics card or monitor. The Xbox product page also advertises 4K and up to 60 FPS across campaign and multiplayer, but that broad claim is not a PC-specific performance guarantee. Xbox’s game page lists the announced October 6, 2026 release date for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam, with PC Game Pass availability on launch day.
