Don Bradman Cricket Jr supports local two-player split-screen on one system. Tru Blu Games describes the feature as “COUCH MULTIPLAYER: Play 2 player split screen against your friends,” and Nintendo’s Switch listing specifies one console with 1–2 players. Cross-play between PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch is not confirmed in the published information available as of October 2026, so you should not assume that players on different platforms can join the same match.
What is confirmed about multiplayer?
The clearest answer depends on whether your friend is sitting beside you or playing from another platform. The announced local mode is a same-system feature: two people share one console or computer and play through split-screen presentation. Tru Blu Games used the phrase “couch multiplayer” in its 14 October 2026 announcement, explicitly describing two-player split-screen matches.
Nintendo’s official Switch product listing independently records the game as supporting 1–2 players on one console. That is the most specific player-count information currently available for a retail platform page. It establishes a local session for one or two people; it does not establish online matchmaking, two-console play or cross-platform sessions.
Cross-play is a separate capability. It requires the publisher and platform services to connect users on different systems, such as a PC player joining someone on Switch. Neither the Tru Blu announcement nor Nintendo’s listing says that this is supported. SteamDB metadata includes multiplayer and shared/split-screen categories, but those labels do not state that PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch users can play together. The responsible status is therefore cross-play unconfirmed, not “definitely absent.”

Local multiplayer: what you can do on one system
Two-player split-screen is the documented mode
For a same-room game, the published feature is straightforward: two players use the same system, with the action divided into split-screen views. The publisher calls this “2 player split screen,” so the announced local mode is not a four-player party format. No source in the current product information lists three- or four-player support.
Switch player count and hardware context
On Nintendo Switch, the listing’s “1–2 players” designation means the game is intended to run a one-player or two-player session on one console. Nintendo does not, in the supplied listing, specify whether both players may use individual Joy-Con controllers, a pair of full controllers, or another controller arrangement. Check the final on-screen controller instructions after installation rather than buying extra hardware based on an assumption.
What local play does not imply
Local split-screen does not automatically provide online multiplayer. A game can render two views on one device without offering invitations, public lobbies, private rooms or network play. Unless a future platform page adds those terms, treat the announced mode as a same-location option.

The current evidence
Tru Blu Games has announced releases for Steam, the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store and Nintendo eShop. That is a list of storefront destinations, not a statement that those versions share online sessions. Nintendo’s listing gives local player information but no cross-play badge or explanation. SteamDB records multiplayer-related metadata and shared/split-screen categories, yet no cross-platform-play capability appears in the supplied metadata.

What “unconfirmed” means for buyers
There is a meaningful difference between “not announced” and “not supported.” A publisher may add a feature later, or a platform page may receive a new specification after launch. At the time covered by the available announcements, there is no official statement that a PC user can join a console user, that Xbox and PlayStation players can share a match, or that Switch connects to any of them.
Plan on a single-platform group unless an official update changes that position. Do not purchase a second copy on another platform solely because the game is listed in several stores; the storefront announcements do not promise that the copies can play together.

The table separates what each source actually establishes. A category tag is weaker evidence than a platform specification, and a storefront destination alone says nothing about network compatibility.

- Install the same release on the system you will share. On Switch, Nintendo lists an estimated download size of 1.1 GB. Allow additional storage for updates if the console requests it.
- Prepare two compatible controllers. The public listing confirms two players but does not specify the required controller combination. Charge or pair both controllers before launching the game.
- Start the game and open its multiplayer or match mode. Look for wording referring to local, couch, split-screen or two-player play. If the game offers only a single-player option before controllers are connected, return to the system controller screen and register the second device.
- Join with the second controller. Use the on-screen prompt shown by the game; the title may require a button press or a profile selection. Do not create a second online account unless the game explicitly requests one.
- Choose the match settings and begin. The publisher has not published a complete ruleset, team list or mode list for Jr, so select only options that the installed version exposes.
- Confirm the split-screen view. Two active player areas should appear before play starts. If only one view is shown, the second controller has not joined the local session.
This process is intentionally conservative: it tells you how to verify the documented capability while leaving room for the final interface to differ between PC and consoles.
Troubleshooting local multiplayer
The second player cannot join
- Check that the second controller is assigned to the same console and is awake before entering the match.
- Return to the system’s controller-management screen, reconnect the device, then relaunch the game.
- Look for a local or split-screen option rather than an online lobby. The announced feature is couch play, so an online menu may not be the correct path.
- Install any available game update. Release builds can change controller prompts and multiplayer availability.
The game shows one player only
Nintendo’s 1–2-player rating confirms that a two-player option is intended on Switch, but it does not guarantee that every mode supports two participants. Try the game’s general local-versus or exhibition entry if one is available. A mode-specific restriction would not contradict the overall player rating.
You expected remote play
SteamDB’s Remote Play Together category is metadata, not a publisher promise that every remote configuration works. If the installed Steam version exposes Remote Play Together, follow Steam’s own invitation flow and test it with the same PC session. That arrangement still differs from cross-play: both participants may be streaming the host’s PC copy rather than running native copies on different platforms.

What a future cross-play announcement should specify
If Tru Blu Games adds cross-play, look for an explicit statement rather than an icon or a generic “multiplayer” label. A useful announcement would identify the supported platform pairs, such as PC with Xbox or Switch with PlayStation, and explain whether cross-play is enabled by default.

It should also clarify account requirements, matchmaking pools, friend invitations, voice or text communication, progression sharing and whether cross-play can be disabled. Console-specific restrictions can apply even when a publisher supports cross-platform matchmaking generally. Until those details appear on an official platform page or publisher update, none of them should be assumed.
How to verify after release
- Open the game’s official product page for your platform and search its features or support section for the exact term “cross-play” or “cross-platform multiplayer.”
- Check the game’s in-game online settings for a cross-play toggle, platform icons or an account-linking requirement.
- Compare the support documentation for both platforms. A feature shown on one store page may still exclude a particular console.
- Test with a friend on another platform only after both versions show compatible online options. A successful invitation is stronger evidence than a generic store category.
Release timing, size and availability
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo lists 5 November 2026 as the Switch release date and estimates the download at 1.1 GB. Those details describe the listing available in 2026 and can change by region or after an update. Storefront pricing, edition names and local availability should be checked in your own Nintendo eShop because the supplied product information does not establish a universal price.
Other announced platforms
Tru Blu Games names Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store and Nintendo eShop as release destinations. The announcement does not provide a common launch date, file size or matching multiplayer specification for every platform. Buying and account expectations
The most precise product phrase for the announced Switch version is “Don Bradman Cricket Jr Nintendo Switch.” Use the official Nintendo listing to verify the release date, regional edition and current availability. For PC, PlayStation and Xbox, use the named storefronts once their individual pages publish full specifications.
No information currently establishes cross-buy, shared progression or a single purchase unlocking multiple platforms.
