Choose Distill.io if you want the option to monitor from your own browser or computer as well as from the cloud; choose Wachete if its advertised always-on cloud monitoring, history, or workflow integrations better match your needs. Neither is automatically best for every page. The right choice depends on where checks run, how often your selected mode can check, what parts of a page you need to watch, and which alerts and plan limits matter to you.

How to choose between them
Choose based on where you want checks to run
Distill’s local monitors run on your device through its extension or desktop app; its cloud monitors run on Distill’s servers. Local monitoring can suit pages you want to check from a browser or machine you control, but it depends on that device being available. Cloud monitoring avoids relying on your personal device being on. Wachete describes its service as always-on cloud monitoring. Compare the execution mode you intend to use, not just the product names.
Choose based on the page and the content you need
If you only care about one price, status, or section, selective monitoring can reduce noise compared with watching an entire page. Distill documents selection of part or all of a page. Wachete lists selected-area and whole-page monitoring, plus dynamic and login-protected pages, files, and filters for noisy content. These feature descriptions do not guarantee that either service will handle every site or authentication flow. Test the exact page and selection before depending on it.
Choose based on interval, alerts, and plan limits
Distill documents different minimum intervals for different modes: five seconds for browser add-on checks and two minutes for web-app checks on Flexi. These are not universal intervals across every plan, and a check interval is not the same as a guaranteed notification time. Wachete’s cited feature information does not specify a precise current minimum interval. If timing is critical, verify the interval available in the exact mode and plan before choosing.

Both products list several alert destinations, but the available channels and quotas may depend on plan. Likewise, Distill’s history allowances are plan-dependent. Wachete lists up to 12 months of saved history and numeric charts up to five years; check the feature page and account plan for current terms.

Wachete: cloud watching and data workflows
- Its cloud monitoring is described as continuing while your phone and computer are off.
- Its feature list covers web pages and files, selected areas, dynamic and login-protected pages, and filters.
- Its listed workflow options include exports, RSS, REST API, webhooks, Zapier, and an MCP server.
- Wachete’s home page advertises no check limits, but limits and terms can depend on plan; do not assume that claim applies identically to every account. Review current plan details. Wachete home page
Questions to answer before setting up a monitor
- Do you need a whole page or just one region? Select only the relevant area when possible, then check whether the monitor captures the intended changes without unrelated page updates.
- Is the content dynamic or behind a login? Wachete lists support for dynamic and login-protected pages, but access and site behavior vary. Test your exact page and sign-in flow.
- Does the page contain noisy content? Ads, timestamps, rotating recommendations, or changing counters can create unwanted alerts. Use selection or filters where available and review a few captured changes.
- Do you need an alert or a durable record? Confirm the specific notification destination and history allowance in the plan you will use.
- Must checks continue when your computer is off? Prefer a cloud monitor rather than a local monitor that depends on your device being available.
- Does the target change numerically? If you need a numeric chart or threshold-style workflow, check the service’s current numeric monitoring options and verify them against the page you intend to track.
Pricing and plan limits: verify before choosing
The available official information does not establish a complete, aligned current price comparison between Distill and Wachete. Distill’s pricing page lists plan-dependent monitor, alert, history, and macro allowances; Wachete’s home page advertises no check limits, but that should not be treated as a universal promise across plans. Compare current plan pages for the number of monitors, check cadence, history, alert channels, and integrations you actually need rather than choosing from a headline limit alone.
