There is no single, franchise-wide list of Disgaea button codes. In most entries, “cheats” means the in-game Cheat Shop or another game-specific modifier, while trophies and achievements have requirements tied to a particular title, edition and platform. Identify your exact Disgaea game first; a setting, code or trophy condition from one entry should not be assumed to work in another.
The clearest documented examples here are Disgaea 5 Complete on Nintendo Switch and the historical Disgaea D2 trophy checklist. A fan-maintained reference also describes Cheat Shop availability in Disgaea 6 and Disgaea 7, but those details should be checked against the game and current edition you own.
What “Disgaea cheats” and “codes” actually mean
Searches for Disgaea codes often imply a universal sequence of controller buttons. The available franchise evidence does not establish a reliable, universal code table. Instead, Disgaea games commonly expose powerful adjustments through an in-game Cheat Shop, bills, or progression systems. These are part of the game’s design, not necessarily external cheat codes.
Cheat Shop options, when present, differ by entry. Their unlock timing, available gauges and effects can change between numbered games, ports and complete editions. A setting found in Disgaea 5 Complete is not proof that the same setting exists in Disgaea 7 Complete Edition. The evidence also does not establish that using a Cheat Shop automatically disables trophies or platform achievements. Treat that as an unverified assumption unless the specific game’s documentation says otherwise.

Before following any tip, record four identifiers:
- the exact game, such as Disgaea 5 Complete, Disgaea D2 or Disgaea 7 Complete Edition;
- the edition or port, including whether it is a complete release or a base game with downloadable content;
- the platform, such as Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5; and
- your store region, because release dates, bundles and downloadable content can differ.
Those details prevent a common failure: applying a correct instruction to the wrong version and concluding that the game is broken.
Which Disgaea entry does an instruction cover?
| Entry or system | Documented context | How confidently to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Disgaea 5 Complete | Nintendo Switch listing; release shown as May 23, 2017. Community-contributed cheats, trophies and leveling advice are available through GameFAQs/GameSpot. | Use only for the Switch edition identified by the guide, and verify the current game version. |
| Disgaea D2 | A Prima Games checklist hosted by NIS America records trophy and collection criteria. The guide is historical, dating from around 2013. | Use as a D2-specific checklist, not as a rule for later games. |
| Disgaea 6 Cheat Shop | A fan-maintained Disgaea Wiki reference reports that the Cheat Shop starts unlocked. | Secondary information; confirm in your edition and region before relying on it. |
| Disgaea 7 Cheat Shop | The same secondary reference reports an initial Dark Assembly bill after the Dark Assembly becomes available in Episode 2. | Secondary and entry-specific; look for the bill in your own game rather than importing a D6 assumption. |
| Nintendo’s US store lists a digital Nintendo Switch bundle. A SEGA Asia/Nippon Ichi product page lists PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch editions released regionally on January 30, 2025. | Check the local store listing for format, region, DLC and current availability. |
Disgaea 5 Complete: trophies, leveling and unlock examples
The GameFAQs/GameSpot page titled Disgaea 5 Complete Cheats, Codes, and Secrets for Nintendo Switch identifies achievements as trophies in the game. To view them, speak to the Trophy collector. The character is positioned between the Data collector and the Memories collector. This is an in-game viewing location, separate from the achievement screen supplied by the console platform.
Using the documented “Easy Level Up” tip
The page’s contributors describe a leveling method based on repeated item use. It is a user-contributed tip rather than a developer-confirmed universal exploit, so treat the following as a procedure to test in the Switch edition covered by that page:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- Choose the character you want to level and obtain usable items.
- Use items on that character repeatedly. The contribution says fewer uses are needed when the Cheat Shop’s EXP gauge is raised.
- Open the Cheat Shop and adjust the EXP gauge if that option is available in your current progression state.
- Check the Dark Assembly for the relevant EXP bill and pass it if your version presents the bill.
- The same tip recommends Unopened Sodas as part of the setup. Confirm that the item and bill are available in your save before spending resources.
- Save before testing. If the gauge, bill or item behaves differently, stop rather than assuming a port-specific difference is a bug.
The source does not establish how this method interacts with every difficulty, downloadable-content character or later platform release. It also does not prove that the method works in other Disgaea entries.

Story and class unlock examples
The same D5 Complete page lists story and class-related unlockables. One example is the first alliance trophy for clearing Episode 1. “Vengeance Complete” is listed for obtaining the other trophies. The page also includes class unlock conditions involving items and enemies. Because those conditions are attached to D5 Complete and are contributor supplied, use the in-game records and the exact Switch edition rather than copying a class requirement into another title.
For a clean checklist, separate goals into three groups: episode clears, class conditions and collection or combat tasks. Mark the source and platform beside each item. This avoids treating an episode trophy as an account-wide achievement or treating a class requirement as a Cheat Shop code.
Disgaea D2: specific trophy and collection requirements
The Prima Games checklist hosted by NIS America is a historical guide for Disgaea D2. Its requirements illustrate why Disgaea unlockables must stay under an explicit game heading:

Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minute| D2 requirement | What the checklist says | Practical tracking method |
|---|---|---|
| Use the Cheat Shop 10 times | The number itself is a trophy criterion. | Record each use in a note or checklist; do not assume opening the menu counts. |
| Jump 1,000 times | A separate trophy requirement. | Track jumps deliberately instead of expecting normal play to reach the total quickly. |
| Perform 100 combos | Another listed trophy criterion. | Count completed combos, not merely attacks entered. |
| Collect all save icons | The checklist includes a collection trophy requiring every save icon. | Use a location-by-location inventory and mark an icon immediately after obtaining it. |
| Item Hoarder and Special Voyeur | Both require completing the relevant special skill and item lists at Paparazzi’s Data Shop. | Check the lists at the Data Shop and fill missing entries rather than relying on a general item count. |
| Platinum completion | The guide says Tyrant Overlord must be defeated before the platinum trophy can be completed. | Treat the defeat as a prerequisite for the final cleanup, not as an optional post-game challenge. |
These are D2 instructions from a guide published around 2013. They are not evidence that a later Disgaea game uses the same counters, characters or trophy names. If your platform presents different wording, follow the platform’s current description and use the checklist only as historical D2 guidance.

How Cheat Shop access differs between games
The cross-entry Cheat Shop reference maintained by Disgaea Wiki reports two different examples. It says Disgaea 6 begins with the Cheat Shop unlocked, while Disgaea 7 requires an initial Dark Assembly bill after the Dark Assembly becomes available in Episode 2.
Because this is a fan-maintained secondary reference, use it as a lead rather than an authority. In D7, progress through the opening story until the Dark Assembly is available, then inspect the available bills for the Cheat Shop unlock. In D6, look for the shop in the expected menu or hub area from the start of a new game. If the option is missing, check that you are in the correct chapter and edition before concluding that the reference is wrong.
No source here proves that Cheat Shop use blocks trophies, changes save compatibility or transfers between ports. Keep a separate save before experimenting with unusually high experience, mana or other modifiers, especially when pursuing a completion trophy.
Achievements, trophies and in-game trackers are different systems
Disgaea can expose progress in more than one place. A console account may show a platform trophy or achievement, while the game itself may provide a collector, list or checklist. The D5 Complete example makes this distinction explicit: achievements are called trophies in-game, and the Trophy collector is the person to visit for viewing them.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
When an unlock does not appear, diagnose the layer that failed:
- In-game list missing: confirm that you are speaking to the correct collector or visiting the correct shop.
- Condition completed but trophy absent: verify that the condition belongs to your entry and edition, then reload the save or allow the game to register the completion.
- Console account missing the award: check the platform’s online status and the profile that launched the game.
- Different wording: compare the full game title and region; complete editions can package content differently from an original release.
Do not infer a platform trophy from an in-game checklist, or an in-game tracker from a console achievement list, without an entry-specific source.
Disgaea 7 Complete Edition: edition and region checks
Nintendo’s US store page describes a digital Nintendo Switch listing for Disgaea 7 Complete Edition. The bundle description includes the game, a cosmetic set, a special weapons set, a starter support set and a season pass. Those contents describe that US digital listing; they should not be treated as the contents of every physical or regional package.

It distinguishes free update content from paid downloadable story and character content. The same page says its digital deluxe edition stopped being sold on May 14, 2025. Store availability and entitlements can change, so check the store attached to your account before buying or troubleshooting missing content.

These edition details matter for cheats and unlockables because a guide may assume a character, scenario or item supplied by a season pass. Verify that the content is installed and that your save belongs to the same region and platform family as the guide.
A reliable workflow for finding the right Disgaea unlock
- Write down the full title. Include “Complete,” “D2,” “6” or “7” rather than searching for “Disgaea” alone.
- Confirm platform and region. Switch, PS4 and PS5 releases can use different menus, updates and downloadable-content entitlements.
- Classify the request. Decide whether you need a Cheat Shop modifier, a Dark Assembly bill, a story unlock, a class condition or a platform trophy.
- Check the in-game source first. Visit the named collector, Data Shop, Dark Assembly or Cheat Shop before entering any alleged code.
- Match the guide’s edition. A D5 Complete Switch instruction is not automatically valid for another D5 port.
- Back up the save. Keep a separate save before testing an unfamiliar exploit or extreme modifier.
- Track counters explicitly. For requirements such as 10 Cheat Shop uses, 1,000 jumps or 100 combos, maintain your own count.
- Recheck the requirement after a failure. Confirm that the action completed, that the correct character or list was used and that the trophy belongs to your exact game.
Common mistakes and fixes
Using a code from another entry
Most alleged “universal” codes are actually menu instructions or Cheat Shop settings from one game. Remove the title from your search only after confirming that the same system exists in your edition.
Confusing a guide’s platform with yours
The documented D5 page is labeled Nintendo Switch. If your copy is on another platform, treat the tip as unverified and look for platform-specific controls and menus.
Counting the wrong action
D2’s “Use the Cheat Shop 10 times,” “Jump 1,000 times” and “Perform 100 Combos” are separate counters. Opening a menu, making an attack and completing a combo are not interchangeable actions.
Expecting paid content in a base edition
D7 Complete listings separate bundled, free-update and paid downloadable content. Confirm installation and regional entitlement before reporting a missing character, scenario or item.
Assuming a trophy is permanently blocked
The available material does not establish a franchise-wide trophy lockout for Cheat Shop use. Preserve a save, verify the exact game’s rules and test the requirement in that entry rather than relying on a general warning.
Bottom line for Disgaea cheats and unlockables
Start with the exact game, platform, edition and region. There is no verified franchise-wide button-code list in the available evidence. Use Cheat Shop and Dark Assembly instructions only under their named entry, treat fan-wiki and community tips as secondary, and track trophies through the correct in-game collector or platform system. The D5 Complete leveling tip and the D2 checklist are useful examples, not universal rules.
