The earnings cap is not a universal wallet maximum: Dead by Daylight Support sets a 5,000,000 threshold for points earned through Trials, Daily Challenges, and Archives, while certain bonuses can push your balance higher.
What Bloodpoints do
Bloodpoints fund character progression through the Bloodweb. Dead by Daylight’s gameplay overview identifies perks, add-ons, and offerings as purchases available there. Completing a Bloodweb advances the character to another level and opens another web.
The available official overview does not list item prices or prescribe a universally best spending order. What makes sense to buy depends on whether you want to unlock perks, stock a character with items and add-ons, or progress that character toward another prestige level.
What the Bloodpoint cap actually limits
Dead by Daylight Support’s article “I am no longer earning Bloodpoints”, published March 4, 2022, says players may stop receiving Bloodpoints earned through Trials, Daily Challenges, and Archives when they have 5,000,000 or more. This is a threshold on earnings from those activities, not an absolute maximum balance.

The same support article names giveaways or promo codes, login bonuses, and compensation as sources that may take a balance above 5,000,000. So seeing a balance higher than that does not contradict the stated earnings threshold.
If you stop earning Bloodpoints
First check whether your balance is at or above 5,000,000. If it is below that amount and you still do not receive match Bloodpoints, the support article advises contacting Dead by Daylight Support.
How to spend Bloodpoints in the Bloodweb
Select the character you want to progress and use Bloodpoints to purchase available nodes in that character’s Bloodweb. Purchases include perks, add-ons, and offerings. Completing the web moves the character to the next level.
Choose a character and spending goal before you start: for example, build toward a perk unlock, acquire items and add-ons for a loadout, or continue that character’s progression. The official gameplay description explains what the Bloodweb offers, but does not establish a best allocation for every player.

How Auto Bloodweb works
The 9.0.0 patch notes document Auto Bloodweb as becoming available after you prestige any character for the first time. Once unlocked, it can automatically progress a selected character to a chosen level, provided you have enough Bloodpoints.

If you have not prestiged a character yet, the documented unlock condition has not been met. The patch notes describe the feature’s purpose and prerequisite; they do not establish every control detail or the current status of possible bugs.
A separate 2025 Quality of Life Initiative announcement described bulk Bloodpoint spending as a planned way to speed up Bloodweb activity. That announcement is not a replacement for the 9.0.0 notes’ stated Auto Bloodweb unlock condition.

Prestige is the character progression milestone associated with completing Bloodweb levels. Dead by Daylight’s July 19, 2022 Mid-Chapter Gameplay Update describes prestige levels as unlocking a chosen character’s perk tiers across other characters of the same role for the first three prestige levels. It also says raising prestige no longer removes perks, items, offerings, or add-ons.
