Why different April counts appear
Pinpoint Search Group’s April 2024 brief, published May 5, 2024 and updated June 25, 2026, tracked 46 cybersecurity-vendor transactions: 39 funding rounds and seven acquisitions, with $999.0 million in disclosed funding. Pinpoint describes a vendor-focused tracker with normalized segment classifications, while SecurityWeek counted broader cybersecurity-related M&A announcements. Their totals therefore use different scopes and should not be added together or treated as contradictory.

How to interpret the roundup
Use disclosed value, buyer type, acquired capability and transaction status when comparing these deals. Values are not available for every transaction, and several entries were announced plans rather than completed purchases. The roundup establishes what was publicly announced in April 2024 under SecurityWeek’s methodology; it does not establish the final closing status of every deal or prove a market-wide trend from one month.
