What is the Cuisinart CONCENTRA?
The CONCENTRA CC1U is a countertop machine designed to make coffee concentrate or ready-to-drink cold brew. Cuisinart describes it as using a cold-extraction process with one-touch controls. The company says the process is intended to produce smoother coffee with less bitterness and acidity than traditional hot brewing.
The practical distinction is that CONCENTRA can make a concentrated base for mixing into other drinks, as well as a smaller serving of cold brew intended to drink as-is. Cuisinart positions the concentrate for drinks such as iced lattes, frappés and espresso martinis, and says it can also be diluted with hot water.
Does it really make cold brew in five minutes?
Cuisinart says the machine can prepare concentrate or cold brew in as little as five minutes. The company contrasts that with traditional cold-brew methods, which it says can take up to 24 hours. T3 reported the claim in its launch coverage on 2 October 2026, but neither that report nor Cuisinart’s product page provides independent testing to confirm the extraction time or flavor claims.

So, five minutes is the advertised minimum brew time, not a result established by an independent test. The wording also covers both concentrate and cold brew; the product information does not give separate preparation times for each output.

What does it cost?
Cuisinart’s UK product page lists the CONCENTRA at £129.99. T3’s 2 October 2026 US launch report gave a price of $99.95. Those figures apply to different markets and sources; prices and availability may change, so check the relevant local listing before buying.
What comes with it, and what can you make?
A leak-proof storage container is included. It lets you prepare a batch ahead and take it with you, for example to work or on a commute. The concentrate is meant to be versatile: Cuisinart suggests using it in hot or cold drinks, including iced lattes, frappés and espresso martinis.

Cuisinart’s Product Marketing Director, Caroline Ross David e Silva, told T3 that the goal was to make coffee fit around the drinker’s day, rather than require planning a day ahead. That explains the appeal of the five-minute pitch, but it does not independently establish how the coffee tastes or performs.

The main trade-off is speed versus evidence and batch expectations. If avoiding an overnight steep is your priority, CONCENTRA’s claimed five-minute preparation and one-touch controls may be attractive. Its listed outputs are up to 2 oz of concentrate or up to 16 oz of cold brew, so check that those amounts fit how much you want to prepare at once.

A traditional cold brewer remains the comparison for someone comfortable waiting: Cuisinart gives up to 24 hours as the traditional-method timeframe, while its five-minute figure and smoother, less bitter or acidic profile are its own product claims. The supplied product information does not establish comparative taste, extraction quality, cleanup time or independent performance testing, so those are not grounds for a verified winner.
For a decision, weigh the advertised speed and included portable container against the price in your market and the machine’s stated batch sizes. If you want proof that five minutes delivers the flavor you prefer, the available sources do not provide that proof.
