Crazy Taxi: World Tour is planned for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Windows PC through Steam, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2, with SEGA targeting a 2027 release. The only detailed computer specifications published so far are for a closed network test, so they should be treated as planning guidance rather than guaranteed launch requirements. Steam still marks several final PC requirements as “to be determined.”

What platforms will run Crazy Taxi: World Tour?

SEGA has announced five platform paths for the full game. Availability is platform-specific: an Xbox Series console version is separate from the Windows PC versions, while the Steam edition is listed as its own PC release. Nintendo Switch 2 is included in the full-game announcement even though it was not part of the closed network test.

Platform Current status What is confirmed
Xbox Series X|S Announced full-game platform The Xbox store lists support and describes the title as optimized for Xbox Series X|S.
Xbox on PC Announced PC platform SEGA’s test documentation includes Windows PC hardware, and the Xbox listing includes PC support.
PC via Steam Announced; planned for 2027 Steam has a product page, but processor, graphics and other final requirements remain partly to be determined.
PlayStation 5 Announced full-game platform PS5 was also included in the closed network test platform list.
Nintendo Switch 2 Announced full-game platform SEGA says online multiplayer is planned for Switch 2 in the finished game; Switch 2 was not listed for the closed test.

SEGA’s June 2026 announcement gives the release window as 2027. Until a launch date and final technical documentation are published, platform announcements should not be read as a guarantee that every edition will have identical resolution, frame-rate, graphics or feature settings.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour PC system requirements

SEGA published two Windows configurations for its closed network test. The figures below are the most concrete PC guidance available, but they apply specifically to that test. They are not confirmed minimum and recommended specifications for the retail release.

The table describes a test matrix, not a promise that an i7-8700K, GTX 1060 or any equivalent will be accepted by the final Steam build. Steam’s current listing uses Windows 11 for both its minimum and recommended operating-system entries and leaves processor and graphics fields as to be determined. That difference is why it is safer to use the SEGA test figures for preparation while checking the Steam page again when the retail requirements are posted.

What the required test tier is designed to deliver

The required tier pairs an older eight-core-class desktop processor with a GTX 1060 6 GB or RX 580 4 GB, 12 GB of system memory and an SSD. SEGA identifies the target as 1920×1080 resolution at low graphics quality and 30 frames per second. A computer that only meets the listed parts may therefore be suitable for the test’s low-setting 30-FPS objective, not automatically for high settings, higher resolutions or a locked 60 FPS.

What the recommended test tier is designed to deliver

The recommended tier moves to newer processors, 16 GB RAM and substantially newer graphics hardware: an RTX 4060 8 GB or RX 6700 XT 12 GB. Its stated target is 1080p at high graphics quality and 60 FPS. That target is tied to the test configuration and settings; it does not establish performance at 1440p, ultrawide resolutions, 4K, ray-traced modes or future patches.

Can my PC run Crazy Taxi: World Tour?

Use the following checklist to compare your current Windows computer with the published test tiers. The process identifies whether your system is in the same class as the test hardware; it cannot confirm launch compatibility while Steam’s final fields remain unfinished.

  1. Check Windows. Press Windows+R, enter winver, and press Enter. The test lists Windows 10 for the required tier and Windows 11 for the recommended tier. Steam currently displays Windows 11 in both of its operating-system fields, so a Windows 11 installation is the least ambiguous choice for the eventual Steam release.
  2. Identify the processor. Open Settings > System > About and read the processor line, or open Task Manager with Ctrl+Shift+Esc and select Performance > CPU. Compare the exact model, not only the clock speed, with the i7-8700K/Ryzen 5 2600 required pair or the i7-12700K/Ryzen 7 5700X recommended pair.
  3. Check installed memory. In Settings > System > About, look for installed RAM. You need at least 12 GB to match the required test tier and 16 GB to match the recommended tier. Windows may report slightly less usable memory because the operating system and integrated hardware reserve some RAM.
  4. Check the graphics processor and VRAM. In Task Manager, open Performance > GPU to see the model and dedicated memory. The required examples are a GTX 1060 6 GB or RX 580 4 GB; recommended examples are an RTX 4060 8 GB or RX 6700 XT 12 GB. A newer card with a different model number cannot be judged by the number alone, so wait for the final requirements if your GPU falls between these classes.
  5. Verify DirectX. Press Windows+R, run dxdiag, and check the System tab for DirectX Version. The test requires DirectX 12. Install current Windows updates and graphics drivers if the diagnostic tool reports an older version.
  6. Confirm an SSD and free space. SEGA explicitly requires an SSD and lists 12 GB of game storage. In File Explorer, right-click the destination drive, choose Properties, and confirm it is an SSD with more than the stated free space. Leave additional headroom for updates, shader caches and Windows; 12 GB is the published game figure, not a recommendation to fill a drive to its last gigabyte.
  7. Check the connection. The test requires broadband internet. A wired connection or a strong modern Wi-Fi connection can reduce interruptions, but the published requirement does not specify a speed, latency target or data allowance.

Why the SSD and memory requirements matter

The SSD requirement is categorical in SEGA’s test documentation: both tiers require solid-state storage. The source does not specify an interface such as SATA or NVMe, a particular capacity beyond 12 GB of game storage, or a drive model. Do not infer that buying a specific SSD is necessary for launch; the final retail specification has not been published.

Memory is split between 12 GB for the low-setting test target and 16 GB for the high-setting target. If a PC has 8 GB, it is below the published required tier even if its processor and graphics card are strong. Closing browsers, launchers and overlays can free memory during a test, but it does not change the installed-RAM requirement.

Console compatibility and what is not published

Xbox Series X|S

The Xbox store lists Xbox Series X|S support and an optimization label for those consoles. Its listing also shows Xbox Play Anywhere, single-player, 60 fps+, HDR10, variable refresh rate and ray tracing. These are store capability labels, not evidence that every Series X|S mode delivers 60 FPS, HDR, VRR or ray tracing simultaneously. The listing does not provide PC-style CPU, GPU, RAM or storage numbers.

PlayStation 5

PS5 is an announced platform and appeared in the closed network test. No official PlayStation page publishes component-by-component PS5 requirements, target resolutions, frame-rate modes or installation size. A PS5 owner therefore needs only the announced platform and eventual store availability, not a PC-equivalent hardware comparison.

Nintendo Switch 2

Switch 2 is announced for the full game. SEGA’s August 2026 update says online multiplayer is planned for Switch 2, but the console was not included in the closed network test list. No official CPU, GPU, memory, storage, resolution or frame-rate specification is provided in the available material.

Closed test versus final release: how to interpret the uncertainty

SEGA’s detailed numbers describe a closed network test. Test builds can change, and a test requirement can be stricter or looser than the eventual product after optimization, feature changes or platform certification. Steam’s current page reinforces that uncertainty by marking processor, graphics and other final details as to be determined.

For a planned PC purchase or upgrade, use the recommended test tier as a cautious performance goal rather than a guarantee. If your computer is below the required tier, compatibility is unconfirmed; if it is above the recommended tier, performance is still not guaranteed at settings beyond the stated 1080p/high/60-FPS target. Recheck the Steam listing and SEGA’s official requirements after the retail specification is posted.

Online multiplayer and platform features

SEGA’s August update describes online multiplayer for up to six players in cooperative and competitive modes in the full game. The same update lists the closed test on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PC through Steam and PS5; Switch 2 was not part of that test even though its full-game version is planned to include online multiplayer.

Because multiplayer scope is announced for the finished game while the test platform list is narrower, do not assume that test access, cross-platform play, progression sharing or identical multiplayer features are available on every edition. Those details require separate confirmation from SEGA.

Practical upgrade decisions for PC owners

If your PC has a hard disk drive

An SSD is the clearest hardware gap because SEGA marks it as required in both test tiers. Moving the installation to an SSD addresses that stated requirement, but the final release may introduce additional storage or performance rules. The documentation does not justify choosing a particular SSD interface or capacity.

If you have 8 GB of RAM

Eight gigabytes is below the 12 GB required-test figure. Adding memory may remove that shortfall, but confirm that your motherboard supports the module type and capacity and that the operating system can address the installed amount. More RAM alone will not compensate for an underpowered GPU or CPU.

If your graphics card is between the listed tiers

Model names do not map perfectly across generations. Compare dedicated VRAM and the card’s overall generation with the listed GTX 1060/RX 580 and RTX 4060/RX 6700 XT examples, then wait for final requirements rather than treating an intermediate card as guaranteed. The test targets are tied to 1080p and stated quality presets.

If you use a laptop

Laptop versions of similarly named CPUs and GPUs can perform differently from desktop parts because of power limits and cooling. Check the exact laptop GPU model and its dedicated VRAM, not just “RTX 4060” or “Ryzen 7” in a product title. The published configurations do not provide laptop-specific guarantees.

Bottom line for each device

  • Own an Xbox Series X|S, PS5 or Switch 2? Each is an announced platform for the full game, with Switch 2 specifically included in plans for online multiplayer.
  • Use Windows PC? The closed-test baseline is Windows 10, 12 GB RAM, a GTX 1060 6 GB or RX 580 4 GB class GPU, DirectX 12, 12 GB storage and an SSD. The recommended test target raises this to Windows 11, 16 GB RAM and an RTX 4060 8 GB or RX 6700 XT 12 GB class GPU.
  • Need a launch guarantee? None is available yet for PC. Steam lists the release as planned for 2027 and leaves key final requirements as to be determined, so treat the test table as provisional until SEGA and Steam publish retail specifications.
