There is no verified “best” controller or graphics setup for Crazy Taxi: World Tour yet. SEGA has announced a planned 2027 release, but the game is not available on Steam and the final input options, graphics menu and retail PC requirements have not been published. The only concrete performance figures are targets from the September 2026 closed network test.
Those targets are useful for preparing a PC, not proof of launch performance. Use this guide to separate confirmed information from assumptions, understand what the test hardware targets mean, and establish a safe settings process when the retail build arrives.
What “best settings” means before launch
A settings guide normally depends on a shipping build: you need to see the actual controller bindings, whether the game recognizes a device natively, which graphics options are exposed, and how frame rate behaves in real gameplay. None of those details is confirmed for Crazy Taxi: World Tour yet.
SEGA announced the game on June 8, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PC through Steam, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, with release planned for 2027. The announcement listed the price as to be determined. Steam’s listing still marks the game as unavailable and leaves several system-requirement fields to be determined.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The closed network test was held September 12–14, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, PlayStation 5 and Steam. It covered the multiplayer modes Pickup Race and Cops ’n’ Cabbies, rather than the complete game. SEGA describes the test as an evaluation of multiplayer stability and warns that features can differ from the final version.
“As this is a Closed Network Test, the final retail version’s Minimum and Recommended Specifications may differ from those currently published.” — SEGA
That warning is why a test-era setting should be treated as a starting point, not a promise. A launch patch can change rendering performance, available presets, input behavior or minimum hardware.

Confirmed PC targets from the closed test
SEGA published two PC profiles for the test. They describe an intended resolution, quality level and frame rate under test conditions; they are not independent benchmarks of the retail game.
| Profile | Operating system | Processor | Memory | Graphics card | API | Storage | Published target |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Required | Windows 10 | Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 | 12 GB RAM | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB or AMD Radeon RX 580 4 GB | DirectX 12 | 12 GB; SSD required | 1080p, Low quality, 30 FPS |
| Recommended | Windows 11 | Intel Core i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X | 16 GB RAM | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB | DirectX 12 | 12 GB; SSD required | 1080p, High quality, 60 FPS |
The storage and SSD requirement belong to the closed-test specification. Keep an SSD available if you plan to participate in a future test or want to be ready for launch, but do not assume that 12 GB will remain the final installation size.

How to interpret the two profiles
- The required profile is a baseline for starting the test at a lower quality level and a 30-FPS target. Meeting it does not guarantee a locked frame rate in every scene.
- The recommended profile pairs higher image quality with a 60-FPS target at the same output resolution. It is the closest official indication of the hardware SEGA considered suitable for smoother play.
- Neither profile tells you which individual options—shadows, effects, anti-aliasing, reflections or upscaling—will exist in the retail menu.
- DirectX 12 is listed for both profiles, so a compatible Windows installation and current graphics drivers are part of a sensible preparation checklist.
What is known about controller support?
Official material reviewed for the test does not establish a controller layout, button prompts, remapping, steering sensitivity, dead-zone controls or vibration behavior. It also does not confirm which third-party PC controllers will be recognized natively.
Because the game is planned for consoles as well as PC, console controller use is an intended part of the platform mix, but that is not the same as a published PC compatibility list. Steam’s listing describes single-player and cross-platform multiplayer features; it does not provide the missing details about input configuration.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Therefore, claims such as “use a particular steering sensitivity,” “set the dead zone to a specific percentage,” or “map the handbrake to a certain button” would be guesses. Wait for the retail options screen or a later official specification before treating any layout as authoritative.
Controller checks to perform after release
When the game ships, use this order so you can identify compatibility problems before tuning driving feel:
- Connect the controller before launching. On PC, close other remapping layers temporarily so you can tell whether the game detects the device directly.
- Open the game’s input or controller menu. Record whether the device name appears, whether prompts match the controller, and whether the game allows per-button remapping.
- Test every driving action. Check steering, throttle, brake, reverse, camera, horn, boost or drift actions if present, menu navigation and any multiplayer-specific controls.
- Check analog behavior at rest. Release both sticks and triggers, then watch for unwanted movement. If a dead-zone slider exists, increase it only enough to remove drift; excessive dead zone makes small corrections feel late.
- Check the full steering range. Confirm that a gentle stick movement produces a gentle turn and that the vehicle reaches full steering before the stick reaches its physical limit.
- Test vibration and prompt switching. If vibration can be toggled, compare it on and off. Confirm that on-screen button labels do not change unexpectedly when another input device is touched.
- Retest in a quiet practice session. Make changes one at a time and keep a note of the original values so you can undo a setting that worsens control.
This process produces a personal setup without pretending that a particular value is universally best. Arcade driving rewards quick corrections, but the right sensitivity and dead zone depend on the controller, stick condition and the player’s preference.

Graphics settings: what you can and cannot set yet
SEGA has published the test’s Low and High quality targets, but not a final retail graphics menu. There is currently no official confirmation of resolution scaling, an upscaler, texture-quality levels, shadow controls, motion blur, field of view, frame-rate caps, HDR, ray tracing or a borderless-window mode.
Do not infer those options from another game in the series or from a screenshot. A preview build can expose fewer settings than the launch version, and a launch version can rename or remove test options.
A safe launch-day graphics procedure
- Start with the game’s default preset. Let the first run compile shaders or complete any initial asset preparation before judging performance.
- Select the display’s native resolution only if performance allows. If the frame rate is unstable, lower output resolution or use an officially provided resolution-scaling option before cutting every quality setting.
- Choose a frame-rate target your system can sustain. A consistent lower target generally feels better than a fluctuating higher one, especially during rapid turns and multiplayer traffic.
- Change one option at a time. After each change, drive through a busy section and a quiet section. This separates a visual improvement from a change that merely shifts the problem elsewhere.
- Watch frame-time consistency, not only the headline FPS number. Stutters and sudden drops are perceptible even when an overlay reports an acceptable average.
- Recheck after patches. Driver updates and game updates can alter shader compilation, defaults and performance.
If the retail menu offers quality and performance presets, compare them at the same resolution and in the same route or race. That gives you a meaningful choice between image detail, frame-rate stability and input latency rather than a purely subjective “best” label.
Can you get 60 FPS in Crazy Taxi: World Tour?
The only official 60-FPS figure is SEGA’s recommended target for the closed network test: the recommended PC profile aimed at 1080p on High quality at 60 FPS. That indicates a 60-FPS goal for hardware around that published class, but it is not a retail guarantee and was not presented as an independent benchmark.
Players with hardware below that profile should not assume that lowering one setting will reproduce the target. CPU load, GPU load, driver version, background applications, resolution and the final game build all affect the result. Players with faster hardware still need to verify the shipping build because a higher specification does not eliminate engine or patch-related stutter.

How to verify 60 FPS responsibly
- Use a repeatable route or race rather than judging from the title screen.
- Measure during traffic, collisions and crowded multiplayer moments, where load can rise.
- Check sustained behavior and frame-time spikes, not just a brief peak.
- Keep resolution and quality settings recorded when comparing two runs.
- If the game exposes a frame cap, test the cap that matches your display and then compare it with an uncapped result for stability.
Until SEGA publishes final requirements or the retail build is measurable, “60 FPS” should be read as a target attached to the test’s recommended profile—not a promise that every PC can achieve it.
PC preparation before the retail release
The test specification gives practical preparation clues while leaving room for change:
- Use a 64-bit Windows installation that meets the published operating-system version for the profile you are targeting.
- Keep at least the published 12 GB of free space available and plan for additional room for updates; the final install size has not been confirmed.
- Install the game on an SSD if you are preparing for a test or launch. SEGA explicitly required an SSD for the closed test.
- Verify DirectX 12 support and update the graphics driver supplied by your GPU manufacturer.
- Close recording, browser and overlay software during initial troubleshooting so background load does not obscure the game’s own behavior.
- Use a wired network or a strong, stable connection for multiplayer testing; broadband internet was listed as a requirement.
These are readiness steps, not a promise that the final installer will use the same space or operating-system cutoff. Recheck Steam’s system-requirement panel and SEGA’s official game page when the retail listing is updated.

The game is planned for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, but the reviewed material does not publish console quality modes, resolution targets, frame-rate caps or graphics toggles. Do not assume that a “quality” or “performance” mode exists on every console.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →On release, look for the console’s own video or graphics menu and record the exact labels SEGA uses. If two modes are offered, compare their stated frame-rate and resolution behavior in the same race. If no mode is exposed, the console build is controlling those choices automatically, and external graphics adjustments cannot create an unsupported mode.

How to update this guide when the game launches
A reliable settings recommendation should be built from the final menu and a repeatable test, not from the closed-test table alone. Use this checklist after release:
- Confirm the Steam page no longer says the title is unavailable and read the final requirements.
- List every controller option visible in the shipping build, including remapping, sensitivity, dead zone, vibration and prompt selection.
- Record every graphics option and the available presets, resolution choices, frame caps and scaling modes.
- Test the same route or race at each preset and note sustained frame rate, frame-time behavior and visible image changes.
- Repeat the test after the first major patches, because launch performance can change.
- Separate measured results from preference. A setting that feels best to one driver may not be the lowest-latency or most stable choice for another.
Troubleshooting branches
The controller is not detected on PC
Reconnect it before launching, remove duplicate virtual-controller layers, try a different USB port or wireless receiver, and check whether Steam Input is altering the device identity. If the game still shows no device, consult the final support documentation; current official material does not identify a universal fix or supported-device list.
The game detects the controller but shows the wrong prompts
Look for a prompt or input-device selector, then touch only the intended controller while the game is open. Disable competing remappers temporarily and restart after changing the input mode.
Recommended Free Tools
Frame rate is below the published target
Confirm that the game is using the dedicated GPU, close background workloads, start from the default preset, and lower one graphics option at a time. Record resolution and quality before comparing results. Do not treat the closed-test target as a guarantee that the retail build must match on every system.
Performance changes after an update
Recheck the preset, resolution, frame cap and driver version. A patch can reset defaults or change shader compilation behavior, so compare only after the game has completed its first-run processing.
Bottom line
As of October 2026, the most accurate answer is that Crazy Taxi: World Tour has no confirmed best controller setup and no final graphics-settings guide. The closed network test provides provisional PC targets—1080p Low at 30 FPS for the required profile and 1080p High at 60 FPS for the recommended profile—plus a 12 GB SSD-based test requirement. Use those figures to prepare, then re-check SEGA’s final requirements and the in-game menus when the 2027 retail release arrives.
