Remedy’s CONTROL Resonant Game Update 1.4.0 lets players start an unlimited number of New Game ++ runs and says it reduces the overall amount of combat and intensity in the Unknown Zone by 10%–15%. It also adds clearer loadout and upgrade information and a separate control for radio-dialogue volume.
What does the CONTROL Resonant update add?
Remedy’s official Game Update 1.4.0 notes describe changes to repeat play, Unknown Zone combat, progression information, and audio controls, alongside bug fixes and visual and audio polish.
Unlimited New Game ++ runs
The notes say players can now play an infinite number of runs in New Game ++. They do not spell out additional unlock requirements or explain what carries over between runs, so the update announcement alone does not establish those details.
Combat and intensity in the Unknown Zone
Remedy says the overall amount of combat and intensity in the Unknown Zone decreased by 10%–15%. That is the publisher’s patch-note figure; the notes do not explain how it was calculated or say that every encounter has been reduced uniformly. It should be read as a broad description of the zone’s balance, not a guaranteed change to each fight.

What changed in loadouts, upgrades, and audio?
- Build Power: The Loadout screen now displays Build Power.
- Upgrade readiness: The HUD signals when items are ready to buy or upgrade in The Gap.
- Vendor materials: The map can show whether a Vendor has pinned upgrade materials.
- Radio dialogue: A separate slider controls radio-dialogue volume, including its balance between speakers or headphones and the DualSense controller speaker.
The update also includes player-interaction adjustments and changes to encounters and challenges; the listed features are not the full scope of the patch.
