What platforms is CONTROL Resonant on?
Remedy’s current game page lists the following as available: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, and GeForce NOW. Mac via Steam and the App Store is listed as following later in 2026, not as currently available. Platform status can change, so verify the storefront before buying.
Remedy announced both digital and physical editions before launch, but that announcement does not establish current regional stock or the contents of each edition. Check a local retailer or platform store for the format and edition actually offered.

Xbox Play Anywhere
Xbox Wire reported that the game supports Xbox Play Anywhere at launch. That support lets players move between an Xbox console, PC, and supported gaming handhelds, carrying saves, add-ons, and achievements across those devices. This is an Xbox-specific feature, not a promise of cross-platform saves across every version. Xbox Wire’s announcement describes the supported Xbox ecosystem.
How does CONTROL Resonant connect to Control?
Resonant continues the same supernatural mythology, but shifts the viewpoint from Jesse Faden to her brother Dylan. In the first Control, Jesse enters the Oldest House searching for Dylan. In the sequel, Dylan has spent years confined, and a supernatural crisis is distorting Manhattan as he searches for his missing sister. Creative director Mikael Kasurinen put their relationship this way: “His story drives Resonant, but as in the first game, the other sibling shapes the path.”
What kind of game is it?
Remedy presents Resonant as a third-person action RPG set across interconnected zones of Manhattan, with exploration and character and weapon progression. Dylan wields the Aberrant, a living weapon that can shapeshift and is used for melee combat. The Xbox Wire announcement outlines the premise and the Aberrant.

Do you need to play Control first?
No. Remedy describes Resonant as an entry point for new players, so prior experience with Control is not required to begin Dylan’s story. Playing the first game can provide background on Jesse, Dylan, and the setting, but the sequel is designed to welcome players who are starting with this release. Remedy reiterated that newcomer-friendly approach in its launch support post.
